The X23 NNEMP Cannon is an experimental Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) weapon mounted on Gremlin Combat Support Vehicles. This type of weapon was first produced by the UNSC during the early days of the Insurrection and produces an EMP of non-nuclear origin, directing it with pinpoint accuracy and foregoing the use of weapons of mass destruction to achieve the same result. Though initially meant to combat rebellious human factions, the device proved equally capable of disabling nearly any Covenant vehicle and computer system during the Human-Covenant war.^[1][2]
