We have a category for all articles about DLC that are multiplayer map packs, but we do not have a category for articles about DLC that are bundles or don't include only maps, such as the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack, Champions Bundle, and Infinity Armor Pack.
I think the concept of having a category specifically for Map Packs is somewhat outdated. I propose that we rename Category:Multiplayer Map Packs to Category:DLC, and that way, we can include all DLC in categories. Further, this will allow us to categorize DLC by game in the same way we've categorized multiplayer.
What's the policy for categorizing articles that also correspond to a subcategory? For example, does War Games belong in Halo 4, Halo 4 Multiplayer, or both?
Though you might already know about, I thought I’d remind you about [Special:LicensedVideoSwap|Wikia’s Video Swap tool], which allows you to very easily swap out YouTube videos embedded across your community for the Wikia equivalent. It only effects YouTube videos with a matching Wikia video. Swapping out your videos for matching officially licensed Wikia videos means that the videos on your community are less likely to be taken down and rendered unwatchable.
With your approval, I can go through and make these swaps for you — if you’d rather undertake this task yourself — or if you’re uninterested entirely — just let me know! I'll likely start making some of the swaps for you in a week, so be sure to let me know as soon as you can if you'd rather not make the switch."
Hi, I know your busy with Exams and what not but if you could reply to this that would be great, awesome in fact.
Jorge Albor has offered to send me to E3 2014 this year and since you were sent last year, I was hoping you could answer a few questions.
Is it true that the entire trip is paid for? Plane, Food, Hotel, All? Also what exactly did you do at the convention aside from the Wikia Showcase videos? How far was your hotel from the conferences? What did you experience, etc.
Again if you can answer these, I would definately appreciate it. Thanks! -- awyman13TalkWork 04:05, May 15, 2014 (UTC)
I noticed that Wikia has listed you on the Wiki Games for E3 2014. Does that mean I'll be meeting you in three weeks? :) -- awyman13TalkWork 20:46, May 20, 2014 (UTC)
Hi T3CHNOCIDE, I have a question regarding editing for you. This isn't a question about editing here on this wiki, but rather wiki's in general. I've noticed the sidebar on Halo Nation is quite different then that of some other wiki's, and I would like to know (with the provided Administrator powers) how to edit a sidebar.
I'd like to know the reasoning please. Also, in future, please don't call peoples religious beliefs a lie as you did with me. It's unacceptable and not very user-friendly. 343 TheGuiltyProphet (talk) 22:49, June 21, 2014 (UTC)
Hi, it took ages because I couldn't get AWB to work the way I wanted it to. But I manually removed all the templates that added this category. http://www.halo.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Banned_User . Took me a very long time but I done it. (Template no longer exists, very outdated). If you could now please delete the category for me to finish it off and remove the last page that SYSOP protected. Thanks, 343 TheGuiltyProphet 00:45, August 15, 2014 (UTC)
Currently, Halo Nation italicizes titles of works (games, books, and songs), disambiguation headers, and quotes in articles. My understanding is that in cases of italics within italics, italics should be reversed (i.e. For the weapon in Halo: Combat Evolved, see this weapon.) I was discussing this with another admin, and he disagrees, even though it is common practice elsewhere. Do we have a standard or policy in place on this? If not, would we be able to define one? -- Vektor0 (talk) 21:02, August 20, 2014 (UTC)
I apologize if I was unclear. I know that italics should be used for titles and ship names. I also know that italics should be used for disambiguation headers. But what if we have a title within a disambiguation header? Of the following two examples, which should be used:
Hello, I noticed you removed my message. I'm fine with that, but please can you make sure that this is the case for both parts. I have had other HN users coming to me like Meow saying they heard about these instances through chat. Hardly fair, especially since I can't be there to defend myself or anything.
AKA, please can you ensure he keeps it off site as you do with me.
Knight has banned DBD for one year, there was little warning, albeit DBD was acting out a bit, such a huge banning should always be notified to the user before doing this as a warning, at minimum, but that is just my opinion. We all know that Knight has always had a strong distaste for DBD, and such distaste, allthough not provable, is a leading factor for such a huge banishment. Knightmare did not discuss the length of the banishment in the main chat window, and claims he has spoken to Grif, Vid, T3CH, and Ultra, and claims that they all found out about the ban by means outside of conversation in the main chat windows, via either looking up the ban time info under their own accord or some form of private messaging. Knight also claims that they are all in agreement to a year long ban, saying, to directly quote: "I have talked to most admins about it". If we speak numerically, the admins who actually do visit the chat at all are Grif, Karl, T3CH, Forerunner, Bravado, Ultra Force, Vidmas7er, and Haloprov, which is 8, the 4 that knight listed personally as ones who he has spoken to to hear that they agree with this ban is by far not the "majority" not to mention that none of the other chat moderators (as far as i am aware) was notified on this or had any vote on the subject. Knight says he is willing to revise his decision if needed. So, I am messaging all admins and moderators on this subject so we may get a legitimate vote.
With the deepest respect, DBD has been here a while and is aware of the rules and regulations. He's pushed the boundaries multiple times. I've seen it, so have many others. If my actions can lead to a 9 month hiatus or an infinite ban, it's only fair for DBD to be treated with the same respect. I respect your opinions Miku as I hope you respect mine. But it isn't like this is the first incident with DBD. He's been here long enough. 343 TheGuiltyProphet 19:46, October 14, 2014 (UTC)
343, with all due respect, you have no say in this matter as you yourself are banned. You are also uninformed on the current situation in chat. Please do not involve yourself in discussions regarding this issue. James-B392(Talk Page)(Contributions)
Honestly 343, why the hell do you care? You left the wiki, you're permanently banned off chat, it's none of your damn business.--SpartacusTalk 19:49, October 14, 2014 (UTC)
I like to maintain fairness. Which some people seem to have forgotten. If my actions lead to such drastic measures, why shouldn't someone else who done something simuliar result in the same punishment. Sorry, but I don't agree with special treatment. Please believe me when I say I'm not trying to cause issues here. I am purely trying to include my input. I didn't leave the wiki. 343 TheGuiltyProphet (talk) 19:52, October 14, 2014 (UTC)
343, we all know you're just butthurt because nobody wants your ban to be removed. You have no say in this matter since you don't know the current situation. James-B392(Talk Page)(Contributions)
I'm not butt hurt and I'd appriciate you stop trying to prevoke a reaction out of me. If I don't get unbanned, who cares. I have a great time at many other Wiki's. Strangely, Halo Nation is the only Wiki I have an issue with. Infact, I went to a new Wiki today. I was asked this: "Are you a member of Halo Nation". I replied "I don't speak of Halo Nation". They're response was "Lol, that isn't the first time I've heard that. Why don't people like that place?" Indeed, good question. Ask yourselves. 343 TheGuiltyProphet 20:03, October 14, 2014 (UTC)
Everyone knows Halo Nation has been on rocky ground with other wikis for a while now. We've never been a rolemodel community and I doubt we ever will be. Additionally, I'm not trying to provoke you at all - simply reminding you that you have no business sticking your nose into something that doesn't concern you at all. James-B392(Talk Page)(Contributions)
Le sigh. Did I really have to come down here and actually talk about this publicly. and I still don't really think I should. Just pack it the fuck in and keep this shit in chat PM god damn it. I'm forever blowing bubblespretty bubbles in the air19:53, October 14, 2014 (UTC)
Apologies to all for my late reply. Circumstances in real life have greatly hindered my ability to act and reply to situations such as this. I've been kept up to day through Skype and have been asked for my opinion on the matter. However, as far as I am aware, the active admins have discussed the matter in depth and come to the conclusion that a ban is necessary however the original length was up for debate. As such, by consensus it was reduced to 3 months. A length which was decided is suitable for the individual to reflect on their actions but not too long as to be unfair. As I was not present at the time and have currently not been very active on the chat I think it is unfair for me to comment or get involved, as my response would be ill-informed. I hope this helps clarify my stance. 20:01, October 17, 2014 (UTC)
Hello! I just received 40 walkthrough videos for Halo MCC and would like to know if there is a specific page you would like them embedded on. Video such as these generally need to be made available as soon as possible, so please get back to me as soon as you can. Otherwise, I get to choose. :P Pinkachu (talk) 20:53, November 11, 2014 (UTC)
I recently made some edits to the Yonhe page. I added citations to Halo Waypoint, instead of the simple that was there before. However, I do not know how to make them display as the same source, instead of two different ones. Take a look. They were the same citation format, based off Luna's, as I didn't otherwise know how to make citations. So, how can I show them to be the same source?
I only recently discovered that Vektor0 isn't an Admin: surprised, as he has a very formal style of writing and edits recently-edited, sourceless edits to their previous state, and states why. In fact, I'll be reviewing him and might file an Adminship nomination. I consider myself a Non-Commissioned Admin, equal to a Technical Sergeant, but Vektor0 is a Master Chief Petty Admin of the Articles.
Happy New Year, T3CH! Get a lot of Destiny/Halo: MCC in?
We are happy to inform you that your community has been selected to receive a dedicated community app. This means that you will have an app exclusively for your community that you, the admins, can curate!
Please see this help page that will explain how and where to manage your content in your community app, and also ways to promote your Community App on your own community.
If you have any questions about the Community App itself, how to manage content on it, or how to promote it, please write in to Special:Contact.
Take care! Let's try to play some MCC now that the servers work. Matt Hadick (talk) 11:15, January 5, 2015 (UTC)
Hello T3CH. I've been having a continued issue regarding a slider I tried to create based off of your design here on HN for over the last week since I created my own, on the THDF wiki.
I contacted Karl-591, Vidmas7er and even Wikia Staff attempting to figure out the cryptic problem plaguing the slider, but Wikia Staff told be to contact you regarding the issue. So without further ado, I'll explain my problem.
Basically put, try to find the difference between the template found on the THDF wiki, and on the Halo Nation Slider. If you couldn't immediately find the problem, slots #2, #3 and #4 are completely useless on the THDF wiki. I, along with the community insist to keep the slider on the main page, but it is a definite scar to our community if it is useless.
There appears to be additional coding that I was not able to find in the MediaWiki:Common.js page, and I was wondering if you could help me figure out how to import it to THDF.
