There seems to be a skin problem with me. The skin I used to the wiki was originally Monobook, but now it's Smoke. When I checked my preferences, it said it was still using the monobook skin. If you want to go back to Monobook you have to uncheck the "see custom wikis" box at the bottom of the Skin tab on your user preferences. When this box is checked, the custom skin will always override you skin preferences. Hey RR, good to see you again, hey while I was gone I came up with a great idea that could benifit the wiki community. I came up with the idea of a new Usergroup/Community Team for Halopedia, Halopedias very own Forge team! Now before I go on understand that I know about the policys and rules about this so consider this to be an idea(just like the Monitors of Halopedia) to be approved by you and the other admins. Basicly this would be a group of any number of individuals with a leader/organizer. Screening would included so not everyone joins. the rules would be that you need to have a basic knowledge of forge, have a good working knowledge on how to make FAIR,FUN, and EXCITING maps. Noone who makes maps for a single person or team would be accepted. People who wiss to join would send me(if it is OK that I be founder and leader,open to suggestion btw) an application on 1.Why they want to join and why they think they would benifit the community. 2. Examples of maps they have made. pics or vids would be great. and 3. If they have a particular role or job they would wiss to have such as Sandtrap only maps,etc. Anyways as I have said this is an Idea to be approved as this is also sent to the other admins. Gamers of Halopedia Edit

Not sure how involved you are in the GoH, but since you are a Berserker there, and a site admin, maybe you could shed some light on the group. I've contacted GuitarPlayer001 about it, and it seems that the current leader there Rtas Vadumee is not available either. The group seems pretty dead, and I was wondering about reviving it.

I've been working on a lot of game related articles, mainly the Halo 3 Maps and Multiplayer article are my big project, but I've updated the MLG page, as well as some glitches, and campaign levels. Not looking for a handout or anything... just want to see the status of this group go from "dead" to "fully functional." Some Halopedia Warz stuffelz Edit

Me and Tony started brain stormin new ideas for Halopedia warz yesterday and got some crap that may intrest you for them. First idea are themed grudge matches, like UoH versus CoH, PoH versus FoH, PoH versus UoH versus CoH versus FoH, admins versus members, etc etc.

The other is a sort of themed campaign. Two fixed teams fighting pitched battles once a week in different scenarios, with specific maps made for them before hand. So if somebody wins the first team slayer, they can then go onto a push for territory in... terrortories. then if they lose this the other team can counter attack with Assault, etc.

Get back to me on your opinions.

Elite Personal Energy ShieldEdit

Do you think this page should be merged with Elite Combat Harness? Its a good article but it may be better to expand the Combat Harness page to include this vital part of Elite armor similar to how the MJOLNIR page describes how the Mark 5 and 6 shields function. Also some people here believe the shield generator and the armor are completely seperate devices. This should be cleared up as the armor is never seen without a shield generator. Halo mods wiki Edit

I would like to propose that the http://halomods.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page be "merged" with this wiki. I know there's that whole thing about fanon created stuff but halo mods are non-canon user-made stuff. There's only twelve articles and PanSola brought up an interesting point about how to categorize stuff. Since this wiki is only dealing with halo, the only way to categorize would be to go by game title, but then there's only about a half dozen titles. Now, if i'm violating privacy again...have RR ban me for a day or so...but PanSola asked me to see if your community has a census on inviting halo modding to join and then exporting the pages and importing them into halopedia. Of course, that would mean that the wiki would be destroyed and the guy who made it would probably not be an admin here. 1. The other day (About 2 weeks ago maybe less) I posted a reply on the forums under my younger brothers account as I thought I was logged in ot him. This page should be kept. It has a huge connection to Halo quite frankly. Looking for input regarding video-wikis on Halopedia Edit

Hi, As you may have seen already, there is a new collaborative video feature on Halopedia, which was added earlier this week. The feature is based on technology created by Kaltura, where I work. We’re really excited to have our technology on Halopedia and are hoping that it can be a great tool for the Halopedia community. I am contacting you and a few other administrators hoping that you can tell me where you think collaborative videos might fit in within Halopedia. We have a few people that are great with rich-media, and that are active in the community and would like to get a few videos rolling. For example – what pages do you think could benefit from a collaborative video that any user can add, edit and remix? Are there 5-10 top pages/topics that you think could be cool to add videos to? Any specific ideas of the kind of videos the community would like? Maybe a tribute to a certain character, or possibly a video that talks about why people joined Halopedia, tips and tricks, etc. Any input you could provide would be excellent, we’re hoping that the Halopedians get familiar with the collaborative video feature and enjoy it. Hi, how are you? I was just looking at the new stuff on the site, and I see a few polls that talk about gay people in a disrespectful way, or use the word "gay" as an insult. I think that Halopedians who are gay probably find that insulting and off-putting. I know that's very common, but there are many gay people who consider that to be as offensive as insulting somebody because of their race or sex.

Here are some examples:

I respect your point of view, but can I just ask this? So many other Admins know how to do the technical code. But that isn't the area that needs attention right now, is it? Mostly its just upkeep of the site as it is, with a few minor alterations. Deleting spam articles, banning vandals, and guiding new users is what takes up most of an Admins time. Am I correct?

And it does not say on the requirements for an RfA that an admin must be intimtely familiar with programming code. I fit all of the current requirements.

Deletion PolicyEdit

It REALY DOES work! I've tried it on Resident Evil Wiki.

If i see a page of non-relevence (ie. George Foreman), then i redirect it here. Because it would count as a page creation, the next time the Wanted Pages is updated, then it wil not be there. This will mean that if you get rid of everything redirecting to the page. By not appearing on the wanted pages and not being linked to, it will now be an orphan, and so easy to delete without any side-effects.

I HAVE mentioned this before on Wikia freq. Forerunner

Hello RR, I didn't join all that long ago, and I only just discovered your podcast. I must say that I enjoyed it greatly, and it was very interesting! I'm also interested in creating a podcast for a different wiki and, as an accomplished wikian and someone with experience in this area, may I ask how you made it? What program did you use to create the podcast, what equipment you used and how you uploaded it. And may I also ask, you made it with GPT, were you both recording in one area, so you and him where in the same building, or did you have a way of talking from afar and, if so, how did you do it? The same question also applies for the guest speakers such as CT. I would really appreciate an answer to this, thanks RR. I know that you opposed my RfA, and I respect your reasons for doing so. I'm just curious - the criteria for passing an RfA say that I need 25 users in support, but I only have 16. If I don't have enough by the end of the month, does it get shut down again, or does it pass?

Why was the List of Kill Shots deleted? Edit

(I originally sent this to GTP but had forgotten he is not an admin anymore):

The List of Kill Shots page has vanished. I added some multiplayer info to it this morning and went to check the page a few minutes ago to see if anyone else added to it and it was gone. Oddly enough, the talk page is still up.

Why was the list deleted? I know it has to be by an admin, but for it to suddenly vanish without a given reason (that I know of) in a less then 12 hour period... I'm hoping its not a vandal who hacked an admin's account but the removal is so random I couldn't help thinking of much else then that (or an admin just randomly deleting a page)

Basically I'm asking: Why was it deleted and is there any possibility of it being restored?

IRC Policy Proposal Edit

I would like to propose a new IRC policy that would ban the mentioning of (illegal) drugs in a certain context, because I think that by mentioning drugs may influence many of the other users. I don't know who runs or looks at the userbox page often, but it said you started it so I'm going to ask you. Do you think there should be a certain template for weapons/vehicle userboxes. Almost like these weapon real world weapon userboxes have a template to them: http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Halopedia:Project_Userbox/Real_World#Weapons

Hey,

Tomorrow is the National Leadership Conference.

This is the opportunity I have been waiting for all this time. The President has given me all the support I need, there will be fliers passed out and an article in the national newsletter. It's all coming to fruition, the proverbial make or break point is upon us.

Us, if you are still interested. I know I've probably said this a thousand times, but this is the very last hoorah, in a sense. One of two things shall happen; there will be mass exodus unto the site and suddenly thousands of edits will happen over the course of a few days, or no-one will take interest.

Expect the latter and prepare for the former, if you catch my drift.

As such, if you still have any vested interest I would love your insight into the wikia management process. The fbla-wikia is going to be quite an undertaking, seeing as I'm kind of jumping in head first. If you could offer any assistance, or possibly bring the reinforcements with you to keep defamation and posted blaspheme to a minimum, I would really appreciate it.

Also, I finally have my xbox back. (lol)

xbox Live Edit

Hey Relentless, its nexes. Sorry for my extended absence, things came up. I'm very impressed with the progress of Halopedia. As such certain things have come to my attention as of late, such as the covenant vessel Canon. Halo wars has revealed a new vessel a covenant "destroyer". However this cannot be. As on the new shield world only one covenant vessel was present, as such the amount of covenant presence on the surface is far too much for a destroyer to carry. However, this could simply be a error on ensemble studios. My thoughts point toward a covenant carrier.

By the way, are you playing on xbox live tonight? My live name is DreadDarkDragon.

Absolutely nowhere, and the coding is just as it should be! DavidJCobb said that you get your icons to appears through the ratings template that appears in the top-right corner. Unfortunately, we don't incorporate such a template. Have you looked at our templates and MediaWiki's CSS and JS? There might be some problems in those. Hi RR. It doesn't appear that any of the admins responded to that email you sent, and if they did, it didn't reach my inbox. Anyway, Microsoft approved the mockup I made, so I'll be setting it live (using the title Portal:Halo: Reach) between now and Monday, most likely tomorrow (Friday). The images on the mockup (and the text links under them) currently don't link anywhere. Before the page goes live, I'll be creating pages to link to. For characters, species, weapons, and vehicles, I plan to add the appropriate articles to a Reach category, such as [[Category:Halo: Reach characters]], and link to those category pages. For screenshots and videos, I plan to create a new page for each, such as Halo: Reach screenshots, containing a gallery of screenshots / videos and link to them.
