What is Halo: Spartan Assault?
Incase some of you are not aware, Halo: Spartan Assault is a Halo game created by 343 Industries that was released on Windows 8 and Windows Phone in July 2013. The game is not considered a sequel to Halo: Wars despite being a top-down shooter. Those who play the game can also recieve bonus content for Halo 4.
October 29: Announcement
The News: Despite Battlefield 4's release which most likely overshadowed the announcement, 343 Industries announced that Halo: Spartan Assault will be coming to Xbox 360 and Xbox One as a digital download. It was also reveled that the two new editions of the game will get some changes including The Flood, online co-op, weapons, armor abilities, Achievements, five new missons, and Operation Hydra DLC. The game is also listed to be released some time in December, Merry Christmas everyone!
My Take: I am very excited for the game to be heading to the consoles despite many PC and Phone players stating that the game isn't that great. I'm also pleased to see 343 Industries adding new content for those of us that had to wait this long to get the game. The release date is also great becuase by then I should have some kind of cash to pick up the game on launch. Overall, I expect this game to be at least a solid 8.5/10
December 4: Halo Bulletin Information
The News: This week's Halo Bulletin not only gave us information on 343 day, but also a nod to Halo: Spartan Assualt. It was announced that during the livestream, members of 343i will discuss Halo: Spartan Assault.
My Take: Though not much was given, on the 343rd day of the year, I expect me and you will learn alot. This excites me alot and I hope you are too!
December 9: Release Date
The News: On the 343rd day of the year, we learned that Halo: Spartan Assault will be heading to Microsoft's Xbox One December 24 for $14.99 or $4.99 (If you have bought the PC Edition) with the Xbox 360 getting a release date for January 2014. Both editions will receive a co-op mode as well as a FREE Expansion Pack.
My Take: For those Xbox One players out there, congratulations. For Xbox 360 players like me, we will just have to wait a few extra days most likely. Overall, the two new add-ons to the game seem promising.
