The Parasite's Augur's review of Mega Man ZX for the Nintendo DS

Mega Man ZX is the first in Capcom's Mega Man ZX series. Featuring about 60 references to past Mega Man games, 9 different forms, and 3 difficulty modes, Mega Man ZX has something for everyone.

• Gameplay: 9 - Right after the first cutscene, you obtain Model X, the crystallized remains of the legendary Mega Man X. After destroying the first boss and doing a few beginning missions, you fight your boss Giro, who possesses Model Z, the crystallized remains of Zero. Afterward, you obtain the titular Model ZX, who wields a sword and a buster. Over the course of the game, you obtain Models HX, FX, LX, PX, and the optional OX. They all play differently, which makes the game so fun to play. Since you're a transporter, there's also subquests up the wazoo!
• Story: 9.5 - Basically your character works for Giro Express, a transporting company who will even send illegal products. One day, you are sent to transport the Biometal Model X. When the first boss, Giga Aspis, attacks, you obtain Model X. Later, Giro becomes possessed by Serpent, head of Slither Inc.
• Graphics: 9.5 - Satisfactory...although not Xbox 360-quality. =D This is offset by the fact that Halo 2 was Xbox-era...but...gahh! =D
• Campaign: 10 - Hell yeah! The detail that Bungie invested into making the campaign is tremendous! Using mods, when Cairo Station shudders in the level Cairo Station, you can see the actinic flash of the Super MAC cannon...you can also see the UNSC Frigate In Amber Clad docked on Cairo Station as well...when you get to New Mombasa, you can see the flood walls that still exist from 2007 Mombasa...the realism is unnerving. Exacting detail to realism and exacting detail to gameplay equals a well deserved 10/10 in this category.
• OVERALL: 9.9 - A beautifully put-together video game that's considered a benchmark par excellence for all other "beautiful" video games. (Of course, if I didn't rate this something like a 9.9, I have a feeling that you Halopedians will run after us with pitchforks...=D)
