The UNSC Kronstadt (993-DD) was a Diligence-class destroyer in the UNSC Navy.[1]
Operational History
Early use
Originally, the ship was made for the Colonial Military Administration as a peacekeeping ship. However it was eventually retired.[1]
Human-Covenant war
The ship was brought out of storage by the UNSC and retrofitted it for use against the Covenant.[1]
It deployed a squad of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers and a SPARTAN-II supersoldier via HEVs for a mission on a Covenant-held planet known as Heian. The commando team infiltrated a former alien settlement, where they engaged multiple Unggoy and a Jiralhanae Chieftain before assassinating a Covenant Prophet.[2]
Trivia
- The ship is likely named for the town of Kronstadt, a Russian naval base in the Gulf of Finland.
