The UNSC Herodotus was a UNSC destroyer that saw action at the Battle of Reach. During combat, it was destroyed by a Covenant Supercruiser with a previously unknown weapon. This weapon projected a thin beam of charged energy particles from a distance of 100,000 kilometers, and bisected the Herodotus from bow to stern. This weapon would later become known as an Energy projector. It is unknown if there were any survivors.[1]
