Background
Edit
The Type 14 Magnetic/Anti-Tank Mine is used as both a mine and a satchel-charge type of bomb, containing 6.8 kilograms of C-7 high explosive. The arming fuse can be set for five, ten, or fifteen seconds. The magnetic attachment device ensures that it will adhere to a vehicle that passes over it. It is used exclusively in Halo: 2, Halo: 3, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4 multiplayer matches, and is not featured in any campaign levels or in any novels.
Trivia
Edit
- This is also used as "The Bomb" in Assault-type games from Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo: Reach. Additionally, it is used to portray Andy in the machinima series Red vs. Blue.
- The bomb has scripted messages embedded on it, each designed for a specific multiplayer map. For more, see Messages on Bomb.
- On Invasion: Breakpoint, as well as any forge invasion map where assault is an objective and Elites are attacking, the bomb will be a Covenant form of it, with purple covering.
- The description for an explosion kill with the bomb on Bungie.net is "Somebody set up us...". The remainder of the phrase is "the bomb!". This is a reference to the 1989 side-scrolling shoot 'em up arcade game Zero Wing, which was notorious for it's use of incorrectly translated English dubbed "Engrish".
