The Type-29 Anti-Infantry Stationary Gun is a variant of the Covenant's line of Shade Turrets. The T-29's operator-controlled plasma turret rests on three legs and is capable of a 360-degree line of fire. One notable feature of this Shade variant is its prong-housed firing channel, which offers such impressive range and low rate of energy dissipation that this weapon can serve in an anti-aircraft capacity when needed.
Trivia
Edit
- The Type-29 Shade was first seen in the E3 demo atop a Spectre and made its first gameplay appearance in Halo: Combat Evolved's level, The Truth and Reconciliation.
- The Shade also makes an appearance in Halo Wars and is identical to the Halo: Combat Evolved Shade.
- The Shade in Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, and Halo Wars consists of a sturdy base of three legs and a floating, mobile, turret-like seat with control systems for its "nozzle".
- In-game the Type 29 Shade cannot be destroyed, however the Turret can be easily overturned by grenades and explosions.
