Troop Deployment Pod (Pelican)

A Troop Deployment Pod is a device which can be attached to a Pelican's overhang to increase its passenger load capacity.

It is mainly used when the craft's scheduled for a transportation or a pickup of a large number of personnel or supplies, who normally wouldn't fit inside the standard main compartment of the Pelican (the so called "Blood Tray").[1] In addition, the Troop Pod may be able to host two more Mongooses as well as a Heavy Machine Gun, a General Purpose Machine Gun, or a 25mm grenade launcher facing out of the rear entrance.

- At the end of the Ground portion of the Battle of Sigma Octanus IV, the Spartan-II's were able to evacuate a group of surviving civilians plus Corporal Harland's squad and the remaining Marines from the Alpha Headquarters.[2] Including the Spartans, it would be a total of 46 people, whom a normal Pelican cannot ferry.
- Also, it is possibly used to carry the 75 children chosen for the SPARTAN Program[3].
