offer 2: *camera points to a unggoy in a cadge* you have any idea what that thing is? that, is a deacon, he knows the half of the story the prophets tell that they want us to know, and you know the other half.... what do you say? do I have your attention? Croft (COM): Consider it done.

,*A spirit arrives and takes everyone still on the ground to the Requisition. Croft arrives moments later, and the Requisition goes into slipspace. Almost directly after its tail end disappears into the portal, hundreds more portals open up nearby and a giant covenant fleet proceeds out of them.*

The Armoury raises up out of the ground.  It does not stop.

Testament: Oh my.  It appears as if the Masters did not instruct me on how to control momentum protocols.  Pity, those Reclaimers would have been an enjoyable experience.

The Armoury reaches the upper atmosphere, but is dragged back down by gravity.  When it lands, the surrounding area rises up, than implodes.  A massive sink hole is formed, as dust and sand engulf the surrounding area.

Requisition's AI: I don't suppose we'll ever know... But we did our best, and 5 million refugees are loaded onto this ship. That's got to count for something, right?

DAB: I guess so... And the Covenant will be wasting their time there for a while before they realise we've got both Caskets... And every other weapon the place was storing.

      Requisition's AI: I hope so.

DAB: This war suddenly feels more real. People's lives hang in the balance,. My actions could waste them... I miss when it was just you, me and the Prelude to Penance, raiding Covenant worlds for the heck of it. It seems so long ago now.

Req. AI:  Don't worry. I'm sure you'll make the right choices-

      (An siren begins to sound)

DAB: Reactor faliure! We're coming out of slipspace!

(DAB rejoins the Croft and his command team)

      Croft: What happened?

Req. AI: We lost the main reactor, so we can't jump or use the shields. We're sitting ducks. Backup reactors are online, but all their produce is being used to keep us warm, all the way out here.

      Croft: Out here?

Req. AI: Interstellar space. There's not another system for hundreds of lightyears... Not to mention, the external temperature is 0 degrees kelvin.

DAB: Without orbital support, Bravo Team are dead... And we won't be able to drop off the civilians, let alone return for them.

Croft: That's not quite accurate... Locke launched our prowler rather than evacuate. He's got them covered.

(Did that above. Basically, Bravo Team stayed behind, Locke launched a Prowler from the Sword of Giants to support them, and is now commanding it. DAB, Croft and his bridge staff left with the Requisition to evacuate the planet, and are now free-floating in space because of a reactor faliure. The covenant fleet destroyed the Prelude and appear to have destroyed the Sword, but the Prelude's AI is crafty - the Sword may or may not have slipspaced as an explosion concealed it from sight :P)

    • Meanwhile on the Requisition:

Req. AI: Slipspace rupture detected! Only a kilometer away... This can't be a coincidence!

Croft: The Covenant. It has to be! Everyone to battle stations.

DAB: (Calmly) You're forgetting, this ship has neither weapons nor the energy to use them. The Huragok on board will fix the reactor eventually, but they can't build weapons without parts. We'll just have to wait this out. If a Covenant ship emerges from that portal, we're all doomed, without doubt. But if it isn't, we just might be saved.

Suddenly, a heavily damaged Sword of Giants bursts out. The Requisition recieves a transmission:

      Y̧où a̧r̡͝e̛͘ s̷̢̢͟a̢̧̛̕v̧͢҉͡è́͞d̷͟.̶̸̀.͞.̵̀

      Req. AI: The Prelude's AI...

DAB: He's dead. But in his final moments, he saved the lives of millions. We should all be so lucky.

Croft: Prep pelicans, uh, spirits, for launch. Load them up with civilians. We can evacuate them all in two trips, but we'll be way over capacity.

DAB: Bring the Huragok. They'll fix that damage in hours, so long as no major components were harmed.

Croft: What's the nearest UEG colony?

Req. AI: Reach. Would you like me to upload myself onto the Sword?

DAB: Do it, and prepare to jump. We'll abandon the Requisition here once the civilians are off. Not like the Covenant will search out here.

After two short trips, the civilians are all on Reach and the situation explained to HIGHCOM. The same team is to continue with the mission, as reinforcements are currently unavailable. DAB's old rank as Warrant Officer Grade 3 is reinstated. The Requisition is to be left free-floating, as only the UNSC know its location, and there are more urgent problems in New Jerusalem.

A-232: Doesn't matter. What does is getting it to Parangosky.

      Parangosky: Get what to me?

Locke: uhm, well, yes, ADM. Baker plans to terminate croft. Thing is, I have evidence that bake is the traitor.

Parangosky: That's a serious offense. Evidence please?

Locke: The first thing was when there were only 25 zones open. ODYNE did some decrypting of the transmission from crystal, and there were 45. 5 have been captured by the covies. Baker told us he had the UNSC team studying it, but I check the records and the decrypt team didn't even know about the caskets.

Then, Baker claimed Croft was in direct disobedience of a direct order. Baker's orders were completed. Then, Baker said the Giant's was lost, but we had it back.

The final nail was when Croft accused Baker of caring more about credits than people. Baker's pay should come out to 120,000 a month. so how does he make twice that? Simple. He's been arming Innies with plasma weapons. A-232 has logs, hard evidence, and a motive. The UNSC MPs are heaing for the arrest.

      210th CO: where is Croft!

Locke: Let the record show that ADM. Eric Baker has used Military Police in a way that violates the UNSC Regulations.

      210th CO: What record?

Locke: I've been running a sting on Baker and Asch for suspicions of witholding covenant technology, and aiding the insurrection. Now I can add misuse of Military Police to the list.

      210th(all at once): MISUSE!

Locke: Baker designated Croft a war criminal, when he shuld have been flagged as insubordinate...if Baker really gave the order, which he didn't. In fact, Croft should be getting a medal. Think. What charges were you sent here on?

      CO: uhh...

Locke: The 210th cannot arrest a soldier without a verified cause. as you have no verified cause, I think we can put asch and baker in a nice cozy bed in HELL.

(I'm referring to that slipspace-capable dropship they've confirmed to be in Halo: NIghtfall. Anyone remember the name of it?)

DAB: Retrieve it, then take us in close to the Requisition.

The Sword flies in close, and a glint of light is reflected at them from inside.

Req. AI (which is in the Sword still): Analysis shows that all cargo of Forerunner artifacts remains... And that transport we picked up shows signs of boarding!

Parangosky: But making a frigate more like a HAlcyon-class-

      Locke: Just do it.

      ONE WEEK LATER

Locke: well, well. parangosky brought it up to speed.

Req. AI: That CPV is in exceptional condition...

DAB: I'll take it. Dock immediately. No fun and games this time, we need to get it, then return to the other ASAP.

The pelican flies into the hangar bay.

      DAB: On a chip, quick!

A chip ejects from the dashboard. DAB grabs it, then sticks it in the nearest terminal while fending of a number of Covenant with his Needle Rifle.

Req. AI: There's another AI in here... Purging, give me a sec.

DAB: Take its designation number and name. Then we can access the battlenet.

One final headshot takes out the last unggoy.

DAB: Done? Good, now evacuate oxygen from all of the areas of the ship containing enemies, then get us back into slipspace. Save the Huragok though. Those creatures are infinitely useful!

Req. AI: Going into slipspace now. The ships name is... The Journey's Steed.

      DAB: Weapons?

Req. AI: Glassing beam... online. Pulse turrets... online. Everything else is non-functional though.

      ORBITING NEW LANELLI......

Locke: Croft is down there. ONI gave us a new toy though. the Asymetrical Recoilles Carbine(ARC)-920, or Railgun, is what I'll use to clear the perimiter. Hartley, you'll be working with Ben and Sasuun. An ODST's nightmare is working with a spartan and the covies, but I think you can pull through. Use M7Ss and M6C/Ss to infiltrate. DAB will create a distraction.... by using 4 of the 30 shivas.

First, DAB will hit with the Shivas, distracting Baker. while they are distarcted, I'll neutralize the watchtowers. That's Hartley's cue. Once inside, Ben will take out the guards around the building holding croft while I harass them with the Railgun. the rest is up to you.

(as a tribute to vessel of war and the Choice Adventure, you have options:)

Glory of warriors: of weapons ’twas choicest,

(Can I just tell you something off-topic?  I came up with the name for The Sword of Giants after reading Beowulf.  It says in the poem that Beowulf vanquished the Grendel with a sword described as so:

Then he saw mid the war-gems a weapon of victory,

An ancient giant-sword, of edges a-doughty,

Glory of warriors: of weapons ’twas choicest,

Only ’twas larger than any man else was,

Able to bear to the battle-encounter,

The good and splendid work of the giants.)

      (That's awesome.)

(I have to agree. Prototype MJOLNIR Mk V is ok because it is a year from mass production, and canonically, prototypes did exist in 2551, but railguns? They weren't seen til 2557. Plus, the Spartan Laser existed at the time which is better anyway. Why not use that?)

(The railgun doesn't exist yet. The part where Margaret mentions that she has a railgun never happened, you can stop talking about it.

And the Stanchion is very old and outdated, its production was ceased in 2521.)
