  • I was reading an old article about Halo in a german website and they talk about Steven Spielberg being probably involved in a Halo movie (Jan. 2012). Maybe he was already committed or was about to being hired to work on the series?

They also speak about the movie being about "The fight/combat for Reach". Could this be possibly a hint to them using "The fall of Reach" or even "Halo:Reach" as the beginning of the Series? It would be awesome. Even more if they can make a balanced mix between "FoR" and "H:R" stories. The only problem I see in this case, is that "FoR" & "H:R" contradict themselves many times.

Ah, here is the article in german: http://www.spieletipps.de/artikel/3762/11/
And a Dr. Google's translation: in english
The Covenant is called "Alliance" in german. Yes. Don't ask ;)

What do you think? Is this too far-fetched?

    • fall of reach should be cannon over halo: reach. Reach was a rushed game and a rushed story that didn't comlpy to work that preceeded it

    • Reach's story may be complete BS. But dayum. that forge, firefight, multiplayer, anc campain were so fun.

    • Just because the book preceded the game doesn't make it incorrect. The highest priority of non canon material should come from the games, not the books; even if the authors are affiliated with Bungie.

    • I'm really looking foward to the TV series, and the fall of Reach would make a good starting point, especially if they went off the book, and told the origen story of the human-covanent war and the Spartans.

Fully psyched. A balanced mix of lore from the game and books would be ideal and I think with Steven Spielberg involved with the project, that's what we'll get. (Though I would have preferred Peter Jackson)

But we've seen what happens from Reach and beyond, take us back to the Insurrection, the birth of the Spartan II's, the start of the Great War and the following 30 years of devastation. I can't see them starting at Reach for anything other than to hook people on the first episode by jumping right into the war. It just seems like a wasted opportunity not to expound on all the awesome backstory from the books.

    • I hope it will be like the halo wars videos or halo 3 odst and halo 3 live action trailers. A series of that would be amazing.

they were not affiliated with bungie they WERE bungie, Eric Nylund is still there and he made 3 awesome books, and Joseph Staten just left bungie and Contact Harvest was awesome. and Karl, ths was already discussed long ago, all is equal now, some for better (every book but Karen Traviss's) and some for worse (Karen Traviss's stuff)

    • I would like to see war drama\saving private Ryan.  Not that crazy star wars:the clone wars.  It all depends if their target audeince is 20 somethings or middle schoolers.

    • probably both. original halo 12 yrs old, so 10 year-olds then are 20+ and also new comer little kids, probably PG-13. most parents are okay with that past 9 anyway

    • Target audience is never accurate; compare Pokemon and Call of Duty. They audiences have apparently been swapped.

    • yeah, but what i meant what it was both, not one or the other, heck im in the damn middle of that, but my 9 yr old cousin likes halo and my older friends like it as well, so to make the show most acceptable it would probably be PG-13 and lets be fare, a lot of stuff can happen in PG-13 stuff anyway

    • And few people are arguing that Halo 4 MUST be "T" rated.

Any greed, the Halo tv series has to be PG-13, not like most dracula love movies that are randomly 18-A. It's like putting maple syrup on a hot dog(even though that is tastier than ever), it just wont fit right.

Parental Guidance-13 is a great rating to settle with and if you have another rating higher than this, I won't let you settle with it, if it's lower, HAVE YOU PLAYED HALO!?!?!?

    • If the show is set around halo 1-3 then it has the potential to be good but if it is set around 4-5 then its going to be a poor show. The story from halo 1-3 was awesome but 4 was so bad it was more like a chore to get to the end. Why introduce a new alien? stick with trying to overcome the covenant!

    • It will be on Xbox Live, Showtime (I think that's what it's called, I don't know American channels) and various bittorrent websites.

Tip, if you don't live in the usa and haven't seen tv from the usa don't watch tv from the usa. You will be misled into declaring war on the usa and they will wonder what they did to deserve it, then watch their tv, the news will say terrorist attack, but you would be thinking, but your tv told me you deserved it.

    • You mean the way some Australian TV shows make people think the country is full of deadly animals?  I literally only saw five cane toads today, and at least two of the five snakes that hang around aren't deadly.

    • If your talking about the bunyip, they are real, some one once did something that the rest of the world would be horrified he did, they shun this action and call it heresy. They actually sat down and talked with the native Australians and asked them to give him the description of what the bunyip looks like. And they ended up with this. http://www.jplegacy.org/encyc/dinosaurs/paras_female.jpg

      Halo: The Fall of Reach

The Covenant look just like their Reclaimer Saga selves rather than their original Trilogy selves.
