The Didact's Gift is a Forerunner artifact retrieved by Fireteam Crimson during the Second Battle of Requiem. The artifact was in the hands of Jul 'Mdama, until he was persistently pursued by Fireteam Crimson and accidentally dropped the artifact while fleeing from the Spartans.
While Dr. Catherine Halsey was inspecting the artifact, it opened itself up and released data particles. While inspecting it closely, the artifact gave off a pulse of bright light and transmitted the memories of a human that lived in New Phoenix onto several monitors in Infinity's science lab.
