Merge[]

The AMB variant of the SRS99C-S2 has no significant information other than it was used by Linda in the Ghost of Onyx novel. The article is simply redundant and most, if not all information are copied from its base article. If the weapon behaves and operates similarly to its base model, then it should most definitely be merged into the base model with its own dedicated section.

As pointed out by Grizzlei in the merge proposal of MA37. Thanks to him. :)

  2. Support Support -- Agreed. Aside from the scope, there's no distinction between the B variant and the base model whatsoever. --"Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have." -Thomas Jefferson 14:24, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose[]

It is cannonically a different weapon, and thus, should be treated as such. Spartanmars (talk) 15:18, July 19, 2012 (UTC)

Halo 2: Anniversary Sniper May Not be the SRS99C S2 AMB[]

In CEA, the sniper rifle in Anniversary graphics is the SRS99 AM (Reach sniper rifle), as confirmed by the Kinect Library, while the original CE sniper rifle is still the canonical look of the SRS99C S2 AM. So, considering that the sniper rifle from H2 has been reskinned using the Reach model in H2A just as the CE one was in CEA, are we sure that the 3D model seen in H2A is definitely the SRS99C S2 AMB or could it just be the SRS99 AM (in a situation similar to the M45E/M90 situation in CEA and CE)?

I'd say that the multiplayer sniper is definitely the SRS99 AM rather than the SRS99C A2 AM, since other weapons and vehicles (e.g. the Beam Rifle, Warthog and Scorpion) have been replaced with different models that weren't in H2 (the Beam Rifle in H2 was T-50 and in H2A's MP it's T-27, the 'Hog went from M12->12B and the Scorpion went M808B->M808) and the SRS99C S2 AMB looks very different from the SRS99 AM. As for the sniper in H2A's campaign, I reckon it's the same situation as the sniper and shotty in CEA - they're canonically different weapons (H2's is the SRS99C S2 AMB and H2A's is the SRS99 AM) which both were used during the events that take place during the campaign.

As far as I know, there has been no canonical source pointing either way, unlike with the original CEA, so I guess we'll just have to decide amongst ourselves which we display on the article.

This isn't a new post, I'm just correcting a mistake. Dab1001's user page Dab1001 (messageblogscontributions) This user is an administrator on Halo Alpha. 13:10, August 6, 2016 (UTC)

I say that we keep it as it is until we get a direct confirmation on if it's the Reach model or not.
