- True. Microsoft has allowed several of their franchises on Nintendo handhelds in the past, albeit by different developers. It does look remarkably similar to Goldeneye Rogue Agent on the DS, which leads to believe it was a proof of concept type thing or a mod. But what modder would spend so much time recreating Spartan models and Zanzibar if they weren't planning to leak it somehow?
Leads me to believe they got the boys who made the Goldeneye DS game(who may or may not be a seperate developer from EA, can't remember) and they were given a try-out contract or something for Halo DS, made this off of their old engine(would have been heavily modified if the plan went through, methinks) and made what you see on IGN.

I think this [1] argues differently, particularly this quote:
"Kotaku: The whole Halo on the DS rumor just doesn't want to die, do you see that in the cards?
Brian Jarrard: This rumor has been circulating for a while and as you know we even saw some real life screens and assets this week. Ultimately it's up to Microsoft to decide if and when they take Halo to a different platform. That particular demo was in fact created and I believe it was an unsolicited pitch a long time ago but nothing ever came of it."

Why is the game cover a photoshoped picture of Master Chief, while the DS game card is a scaled down version of the Halo: Combat Evolved game cover?
