Sergeant First Class is the seventh enlisted rank of the UNSC Army, and is a senior non-commissioned officer rank. It is equal to the rank of Chief Petty Officer in the UNSC Navy and Gunnery Sergeant in the UNSC Marine Corps.^[1][2]

A Sergeant First Class typically serves as the senior NCO for platoon level units. They advise and assist the platoon commander directly.
