"Rape", typically used to refer to sexual assault, is also used in the context of online gaming to refer to either an unfair defeat or a valid victory. The latter meanings are often considered offensive or insensitive in light of the former.
When using the term to refer to unfair defeats, a "raped" player may be one who has been killed with weapons that are considered usable only by inexperienced players trying to get a cheap kill (such as the Rocket Launcher or the Gravity Hammer); or they may have been spawnkilled. The term can be applied to any defeat that results from unfair tactics, from camping to grenade spamming.
The term is also often used to refer to victories, where the loser has been "raped" by the victor. In such instances, the term is similar to the Internet slang term "pwn".
