A Pipe for tobacco smoking is a human item, typically consisting of a small chamber (the bowl) for the combustion of the tobacco to be smoked and a thin stem (shank) that ends in a mouthpiece (the bit). Pipes can range from the very simple machine-made brier pipe, to highly prized handmade and artful implements created by renowned pipemakers, which are often very expensive collector's items.[1]
In the 26th Century, the popularity of pipes have long given way to cigarettes and cigars, with pipes generally regarded as antiques. The only known pipe observed in the Halo Universe was a corncob pipe owned by Captain Jacob Keyes.[2]
Trivia
- In the Halo: Combat Evolved level, Keyes, you can see his pipe sticking out the bottom of his Flood brain form body. It also has a Marathon symbol on the bottom of the pipe.
