Sector B of New Mombasa was one of the city's four primary sections, the others being Sector A, the City Centre, and the Docks. Sector B was located at the heart of the city's industrial zone. The New Mombasa 105 East highway led to sector B through the Mtangwe Underpass, a tunnel connecting with the Kilindini harbour bridge.
Battle of MombasaEdit
In 2552, Sector B was one of the Covenant's main incursion points in the Battle of Mombasa during the Battle of Earth. They employed Phantoms for rapid deployment of infantry, with Banshees to provide air support. Due to the lack of defensive preparations on the part of the UNSC, the Covenant made rapid progress in establising airheads and strong points. Even after the arrival 405th Marine Infantry Division of the UNSC, the Convenant were quickly able to secure essential observation and critical terrain. Once secured, they deployed artillery Wraiths, with Ghosts as ground support. At this point Banshees were attempting to establish control of the air space. The Covenant simultaneously deployed Scarab to destroy public utility enterprises, and other designated demolitions, as well as control bottlenecks to prevent the breakthrough of the enemy UNSC groundforces. Before being nearly wiped out, the entrenched remnants of the 405th Division received reinforcements from the frigate UNSC In Amber Clad, including John-117. A Scarab walker entered the area, having crossed the bridge from Old Mombasa. The Sector was destroyed when the Covenant began excavating The Artifact.
A variety of large corporations had buildings in Sector B. Three of which are large industrial companies including Lethbridge Industrial, Hannibal Weapon Systems, and Cascade Stronghold Technologies. Franchbot Industries also has a building in the district. African Trust also operates a building in the district.EnerGuide has an office in the Sector. Jotun Heavy Industries has an office right on the northwest Sector B border.
Sector B was located northwest of the New Mombasa City Center and Tanaga. Either within, or adjacent to the Sector, are a series of canals that lead to the other side of the island. The Kilindini Park Cultural Center is also connected to the Sector.
