The Missile Warthog, though not part of the M12 Warthog LRV series, was a unique customized vehicle owned by Chief Petty Officer Franklin Mendez on Reach.

[edit] Description
The Warthog's most unique feature was that the rear weapon, rather than being the regular M41 LAAG, or even the M68 Gauss Cannon, was replaced with a rack of Argent V missiles for anti-air capabilities[1].
As far as is known, the vehicle was not used during the Battle of Reach, given that Mendez was not actually present for the battle[2]. It is unknown whether he brought his Missile Warthog with him to Onyx to train the SPARTAN-III trainees.
[edit] Trivia
- It is very doubtful that the Missile 'Hog will be like the design in Halo: Custom Edition, due to the fact that firing it may kill the gunner by the missile's afterburner.[citation needed]
- It is likely Chief Mendez modified the Warthog himself.
- The AA-9 Wolverine MBT is equipped with similar missiles.
- Mendez's Warthog fired in the same three-shot launch sequence.[citation needed]
- In an early Halo 2 demonstration, there was a Warthog shown that fired rockets.
