The Missile Warthog is essentially identical to other versions of the M12 LRV. The vehicle's distinctive feature is the replacement of the standard M41 Light Anti-Aircraft Gun rear turret with two racks of Argent V Missile launchers for surface-to-air capabilities. After six shots the turret must reload.
One such vehicle was owned by Chief Petty Officer Franklin Mendez on Reach. As far as is known, the vehicle was not used during the Fall of Reach, given that Mendez was not actually present for the battle. It is unknown whether he took his Missile Warthog with him to Onyx to train the SPARTAN-III trainees.
