  • Hey,

Recently, I'd been adding years to the Appearance sections on the new pages I create, as I think it's good practice we should adopt because it shows the reader how long the topic has existed in the Halo canon. However, I noticed you removed them on M250 Series-2 and R27 Hull-Jack. Just wondering: were you removing them because they're not our current standard, or do you not think it should be implemented at all? If the latter, why not?

    Thanks,

    • It seems redundant to add the years for appearances as it another clutter to the session, to say the least. And it's pointless to start now since soo many pages don't have it anyways; just seems like a move pulled out of nowhere.

EDIT: I've also wrote that when I was practically half-asleep. But basically what I'm saying is that if we don't need random articles to have the years of the game releases. Its already in the tab above and in the respected game pages.

    • IMO, it looks more professional if each article has them, take Yonhet as an example. I'm still in support of it, so we should probably see what the others think.

    • That looks really bad to be honest. Unlink and link years makes it look like a mess.

EDIT: BTW, It's better to update the images, like the Jerome and Arbiter leader render (since they were already properly named) instead of replacing them.

    • I had previously added links on even the years that had already been mentioned. It did look a little better that way, I admit. Either way, I'd like this to be implemented in some form. We could change the formatting on the text so that it's smaller and looks less cluttered.

Also, yeah, I know they were properly named. I only realised you'd uploaded them once I went onto the pages to embed the ones I'd uploaded. I just decided to delete your ones since the ones I had were a little better cropped, IMO.

  • I'm sorry that these are porly made but I'm forced to use classic editor because the editing takes to long to load

    • No worries. Most of us around here use the classic editor instead of the new one anyway. If you're unsure on how to use it, just look at the rest of the page for examples. A couple of important things though:

      • ''Text'' creates Text
      • '''Text''' creates Text
      • [[Link|Text]] creates a link to the page named Link with the link text being Text
      • {{TemplateName}} embeds the template named TemplateName on the page.

Knowing these, you should be good to go, using the Source Editor.

  • why is the editing taking so long to load

      Loading editor
    • I have no idea why. Probably the connection to wikia is bad atm for you. It should breeze off if you wait a little.

  • Hey Haloprov. I'm Brandon from Fandom's Community team. By now you may have seen our announcement about Wiki Modernization and how we're using featured wiki videos to reduce the number of ads on the site and improve the performance of all Fandom wikis.

As we move forward we plan to have wiki videos in many communities, including Halo Nation. If you are interested in which video types we might use you can find some great examples in this blog post. When we start producing videos we may reach out to you, other admins, and users to be involved in writing video scripts or being part of the production process.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks!

  • I'm going to be polite and attempt to reach a consenus with you. If you look over the removed dialogue in game. The voices are the same voices of the ODST's during the sneaking portion at the beginning of the game and they also make referneces to the same situation that you see in game. Regardless even if I am indeed wrong about where the cut dialogue is. The cut dialogue in of itself reveals an intresting take on cut content. Which is suitable for a misc trivia section on an article and doesn't warrant the entire removal of my edit. That being said, I really hope you didn't protect an entire page because you don't like being wrong. Hopefully you have the capacity to reach a reasoanble consenus.

    • It's not? I never said it was and I never accused him of doing that. I had worries that things were going that way intially due to a lack of communication. That he was going to ignore everything I said becuase we disagreed on something. If I really thought he was abusing his power then I wouldn't have even tried to talk to him in the first place. But things have been resolved now. People have disagrrements, at the end of the day we're both doing what we thought was best for the article.

  • I don't know what happened, but the Era icon's code seems to be broken after I uploaded a different cover art on the Halo Wars 2 page. I think it's some Wikia glitch, as I've seen it elsewhere, but I'm not exactly sure.

  • Hi Haloprov, I just saw here that 343 provided High Quality overviews of Halo 5 Arena maps: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/news/burn-baby-burn.

Those will be great on Halo Nation i think but the files are big, not sure if they are too big to upload. So I thought i'd let you know first.

  • Hi Haloprov,

I'm writing to ask you about potentially hosting a video that we produced on the mainpage.

We recently made a short (3+min) video about Halo Wars 2. It's a listicle style video with tips for the new game. You can see it and read the article here: http://fandom.wikia.com/articles/5-tips-blitz-mode-halo-wars-2

Would you be ok if I posted it as the featured video on the mainpage?

I also wrote T3chnocide -- please confer with the other admins and get back to me at your earliest convenience.

    Thank you!
