Master Chief Petty Officer is the ninth enlisted rank of the UNSC Navy, and is a non-commissioned officer. It is equal in rank to Master Gunnery Sergeant and Sergeant Major in the UNSC Marine Corps. Master Chief Petty Officer ranks just above Senior Chief Petty Officer.

However, in Halo 3, the insignia for Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy is shown to be the same as the insignia from the US (with the standard "crow" changed for that of the UNSC "crow"). It is inferred that this applies to all UNSC Navy enlisted rank insignias.
