The MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor/Mk. V [G] variant, also known as the GUNGNIR armor, is a variant of the MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor.^[1] It was developed as part of Project GUNGNIR and many of its permutations are used by soldiers of the UNSC Army and the UNSC Marine Corps.^[2]

Helmet CharacteristicsEdit

Base Price: 250,000 cR Rank: Brigadier The GUNGNIR helmet is boxy and comes with more facial protection than any other helmet as it fully covers the front of the head and it replaces the usage of a visor with a small camera on the left that displays the outside to the user. The plating on the helmet takes the secondary armor color. It bears a white stripe running down the right side with the Norse symbol for Gungnir in the center.
HU/RS Price: 125,000 cR Rank: Brigadier Adds a hardened uplink/remote sensor package placed on the left side of the helmet. It is favoured among sniper units.
CRBN Price: 400,000 cR Rank: Mythic Adds CBRN attachments, including an HU/RS placed on the right side and rebreathers similar to those used in MJOLNIR EOD armor.

Shoulder CharacteristicsEdit

Price: 8000 cR (Each) Rank: Warrant Officer The Supplemental Armor, Pauldron, MJOLNIR Mk. V [G] is curved and covers most of the shoulder and upper arm.

Knee Guard CharacteristicsEdit

Price: 25,000 cR Rank: Captain The GUNGNIR knee guards primarily protect the knee cap and also covers some parts surrounding it.

TriviaEdit

• In Norse mythology, Gungnir ("swaying one") is Odin's magical spear, which is an infallibly accurate weapon. The GUNGNIR helmet has only one video camera "eye" on one side of the face which is appropriate seeing as how Odin had only one eye.
• Early concept art of Jun-A266 shows him wearing an early concept of the GUNGNIR helmet.
• On Long Night of Solace, when Jorge-052 throws you out of the corvette, if you are wearing the GUNGNIR knee guards and you look at the right time, you can see the knee guards floating above your knee without being attached to them.
• If the player is wearing the helmet while playing Noble Actual and/or Lone Wolf, the helmet's small circular visor will be cracked with a small part of the surrounding area as well.
• Changing your visor color will change the color of the camera's lens.
• The GUNGNIR helmet has a much longer, almost snout-like appearance.
• The GUNGNIR pauldrons resemble the shoulder pauldrons of the Halo 2 generation Elite Minor. An example of the Minor's pauldrons can be seen on the Halo 2 - Second squad is down video.
• The GUNGNIR helmet shares a small resemblence to the Knightmare frames from the Code Geass Series.
