Mrs. Lawson is an ONI agent working at Chawla Base and is the boss of Rani Sobeck. She is high enough in position to know about the secret evacuation of Troy, and accidentally let it slip to Rani,^[1] though she hastily covered up afterward and halted Rani's investigation of the matter.^[2]
