Jiralhanae Army Commander

The Jiralhanae Army Commander[1] was a high ranking Jiralhanae Chieftain. Possessing uncanny intelligence that complimented his violent nature[2], the commander was a dangerous foe despite his (relatively) small stature.[3]

[edit] Summary
The Commander served alongside Ripa 'Moramee and Prophet of Regret during the Third Battle of Harvest.[4] Compared to other Jiralhanae, the Chieftain appeared to be somewhat smaller than normal, but was still a quite capable master tactician, wielding a Gravity Hammer and wearing Brute Chieftain armor that has never before been seen in the Halo series in battle.
During his campaign on Harvest, he grew to respect humans for their different nature and unfailing courage in the worst of situations, but he passionately dislikes the Arbiter which is a trait in most Brutes. He apparently enjoys eating Thorn Beasts, cooked rare, and hearing exaggerated tales of his adventures, told by an overweight Grunt who serves as his official scribe.[4][5][6]

[edit] Trivia
- He is the only playable hero unit in the game to not appear in any of the Halo Wars cinematics, and the only character that so-far remains unnamed.
- He is one of the few Brutes (or any Covenant individual before the Great Schism) that respects humans.[7]
- In 2528, the Brute Army Commander killed two Grunts, intially interpreted as 5 unidentified organic chunks in his quarters. This is because his food, Thorn Beast and dipping sauce, was overdone and insufficient.
- On the Halo Wars main menu, it states that his favorite food is Thorn Beast.[8]
- He is voiced by Marc Worden.
- Interestingly, he carries a newer model of the Gravity Hammer, even though such models were not seen until Halo 3, though in Halo 2 the only Gravity Hammer is the Fist of Rukt which is wielded by the Chieftan of the Jiralhanae.
- His leader card is the only leader card that has an image from Halo 3, or for that matter, any Halo game besides Halo Wars.
- The chieftain seen in the Halo Legends short, The Babysitter, wears similar armor, though his is blue in color rather than red.
- Ironically, because of his respect of humans and intelligence, the Brute Army Commander is more like Elites than Ripa 'Moramee is. Likewise, The Arbiter, because of his aggressive nature, is more like Brutes than the Army Commander
