Japan is an island country on planet Earth. It is located in East Asia on the edge of the Pacific Ocean and it lies to the east of China, Korea, northeast of Taiwan and south east of Russia, stretching from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north to the East China Sea in the south. The characters that make up Japan's name (日本) mean "sun-origin", which is why Japan is sometimes identified as the "Land of the Rising Sun".[1] The katana which is unlockable in Halo 3 multiplayer, originated from Japan, along with the word Hayabusa, which translates as peregrine falcon. The Elites in the Halo trilogy follow a code very similar to the principle known as bushido, which were strictly followed by samurais from feudal Japan.
