The Insurrection

The Insurrection[1] is the proper name given to the civil war which was fought by the UNSC and the rebels of various planets of the outer colonies. The Insurrectionists did not want the Human-Covenant War, for reasons ranging from pacificity to reverence of aliens. UNSC Marines held Insurrectionists in low esteem and refer to them as "Innies." Insurrectionists started out as peaceful protesters. They then evolved to a sort of uban terrorist cell. They would bomb military and government targets in protest, progressing ever farther to non-military targets. Farther on into the war the Insurrectionists bombed a civilian spaceship cruise. (The Office of Naval Intelligence managed to pass it off as an accident)
