[edit] Blue Offense #1
Summary: A learning curve that invisibility has its uses
The setting was dank, the air rank and rancid with spore-forms, and the atmosphere rife for bloodshed. The XBL server randomly chose Blue Team to attack first, and so they did with initial confusion. There was some bickering between RR and Donut about who'd take the bomb, and what weapons to use. Eventually, it was decided that RR was the better one (PWNED, Donut! =D), and Donut grudgingly took the bomb.
Here, RR's tactical mind failed him, as he opted for a serpentine approach through the right side of the swamp, dogging the way through the infested trees with a low-profile crouch and a shottie. Donut chose to run through the central tower...the most direct path to Red Base.
RR prepped himself with a shotgun as his bomb-toting compatriot ran through the tower, and spotted Climax Void and his two guests prowling the area. He was overconfident (Blue Team had won 2 outta 2 previous games against Red Team), and charged with his shottie...uh-oh. The combined force of three SMGs broke him into cover, and he played a dangerous game of cat and mouse with Relentless, Relentless constantly dodging behind a small outpost and a cluster of trees, trying to evade Red Team and lure them into range of his shottie. Eventually, however, he found an opportunity, dashed at one of CV's guests...to find himself in the open and the range too far to kill that guestie-persony-thingy. (Yes, a pun!)
However, his martyrdom was not in vain, for Donut was able to dash to the enemy base without interference from Red Team, which was gloating over RR's corpse. However, they actually thought of the diversionary ruse, and were headed back to their unguarded base...to find...BOMB ARMED. But there was no one and no motion tracker pip!
Donut had discovered an Active Camo within the tower...very convenient for slipping past enemy defenses and bombing their bases unscathed.
- BOMB ARMED.
- BOMB PLANTED!
- ROUND OVER.
1 - 0, Blue Team
[edit] Red Offense #1
Summary: Swords are good. Very good.
One of CV's guests took the bomb, and the other two hitched along for the ride, going under the Fallen Sword Tree and the Carbine spawn, making their way to Blue Base. Blue Team had a problem with that, so Donut looped around the other way 'round the Tower, snagged the Sword, and owned the bomb carrier, and then, with RR's late-arriving help, CV and the second guest.
The rest of that round was basically RR and Donut babysitting the bomb under the shadow of that primordial, rotten tree, RR with his Carbine and Donut with his Brute Shot (acquired from the Tower, 50% discount). It was mostly RR that did the work (oww...oww, STOP KICKING ME DONUT!), as Donut's HE grenades normally went a bit too low...but...uhh...(thinking of some trivial way to honor Donut here...) Donut supplied doughnuts for the Canadian chaps of Red Team to eat...haha not funny?
On a more serious note, CV's Red Team was surprisingly tenacious, using their SMGs to great effect...but unable to dislodge the two adamant defenders of the bomb. The Redders got close enough for Donut to whip out his sword and dice him, but after the worst of Red's offensive for the bomb died down, the round thankfully ended for the two unshielded Bluers (is that a word?) under the tree.

[edit] Blue Offense #2
Summary: End Program.
This was rather straightforward.
Red Team was very cautious this time after Donut skip-bombed them last time Blue had the attack, and just stuck at their base like plasma grenades to hapless Grunts. No matter. Blue Team was more than happy to indulge their cautiousness with a relentless attack. Literally.
As Donut took his traditional route, making a beeline for the Tower, Active Camo, and straight towards the bomb's resting place, RR, a bit faster, looping around the Tower to the Fallen Sword Tree, took the sword, found himself conveniently close to the enemy base, and moved in, Donut lagging a bit behind them. When he crested the hill, he found a vengeful CV with an esoteric Sentinel Beam and his two guests perched with SMGs behind the hill. Three sword lunges, three kills, one big BANG as the bomb went off.
"Bomb went off." It makes Blue Team sound like terrorists...although we did terrorize Red Team, I think.
2 - 0, Blue Team
[edit] Red Offense #2
Summary: Red Team comes to haunt us all...
- "Hey, Donut, is that Sentinel Beam any good...?!"
- —RelentlessRecusant
RR decided for an innovative approach: the almighty Sentinel Beam. He'd seen CV use it last round, and decided to use it too for fun. Then, he took off to the side of the beaten path-swamp-malaria thing, fetching one of the two 8-gauge shotties that were on the map. To be frank, he would've liked the Sword a lot more, but Donut, a Sangheili Councilor, insisted on taking his trademark weapon, and he was damn good with it too, so RR let it slide...kinda, sorta. =D
He then leisurely took a waltz back to home base, found CV lounging around, setting up his HDTV and Xbox 360 admist the Flood infestation entrenched there, and promptly shot him up, to find Donut utilizing his prowess with the Sword with CV's two guests - the bomber dude and the escort dude. Both were sworded up. The bomber dude respawned nearby, charged at Donut, and met his demise at the tip of the revered Sword of the Imperator Donut once again, and died. The bomb respawned at Red Base, where the Reddies, led by CV, would strike back with a great avarice...
As Blue Team rushed into Red Base to spawn-kill like the quasinewbs that the Bluers were, RR got a nasty surprise as he tried to Sentinel Beam some hapless chap to an incinerating death...some CV dude killed him! Unkewl and unfair! Donut, thankfully, was still able to maintain the blockade around Red base, flinging plasma by means of his sword across the place, blowing up redders until RR was able to respawn and augument Donut's mad sword owning skillz with his measly SMG. Thankfully, the round ended for a rather humbeled Red Team...but that wasn't the last of 'em! Wait until the act of Climax Void and the newbie combo, next up! (after these commericals...=D)
2 - 0, Blue Team
[edit] Blue Offense #3
Summary: Blue Team puts up a ferocious defense
- "WHAT THE HELL? CLIMAX VOID KILLED ME?"
- —RelentlessRecusant
Standard start for Blue Team. RR on the Sentinel Beam, Donut on the bomb, Donut spastically lurches for the Tower and the precious Active Camo in its embrace, RR dashes for the sword, Red Team stays at home awaiting Blue Team, this is a gigantic run-on sentence...
After the beginning dance, RR surged in poigantly, Donut in lockstep behind him. RR sees one of CV's guests on the left side of the hill, lunges and eviscerates him. The second of CV's guests is at the mouth of the base, spots RR, fires SMG. RR realizes that he's outta range for a lunge, so chucks a plasma grenade that remarkably lands near the dude and blows him to hell.
RR's fatal error was in letting his guard down and not accounting for CV's whereabouts. When he got a sledgehammering blow in the back by the means of an overcharged Plasma Pistol burst and his shields were down, he frantically danced around trying to melee CV at close range with his Sword where the reticule wouldn't lock on...and got shot up by the SMG that CV was also dual-wielding. Even RR had to admit that was slick. Hang back...wait for the sword bearer to waltz past you, lull him to complacency, and then use SMG/PP newbie combo to kill 'em.
Not slick enough for the cloaked Donut not to waltz by him and bomb the base, but still a very good performance.
3 - 0, Blue Team wins
