Welcome to the Halopedia Podcast organizational page!

What is this Podcast? It is, well, Halopedia's very own talk show, in a sense. It was proposed by RelentlessRecusant after Wookieepedia's own very successful podcast shows, and will be co-hosted by Guesty-Persony-Thingy and RelentlessRecusant - your two favorite dictators, with invaluable technical support from the "evar SEXEH!!!" Guesty-Persony-Thingy.

The exact details of the show are yet to be worked out, but a first experimental pilot episode should be ideally ready within a week or less. In the first half of the show, it is proposed that GPT and RR randomly chat about stuff, including Halopedia events, Halo 3 news, and Bungie updates, and then in the second half of the show, the two hosts will take questions from Halopedians and answer them, although not without sacrifices to the Halopedia cabal's ministering priests (:D).

I definitely say against. I know my vote doesnt carry much weight, but I really dont see what a Halopedia podcast could accomplish. Everything worth mentioning is already in the bungie podcast or in their updates. The only thing you could mention anything about that would be of worth would be Halopedia news such as tournaments. And that shouldn’t even be on an official Halo wiki.

They're not just going to be talking about the wikia. They talk about news from Halopedia, yes, but they talk about new updates on Halo 3 and much more like that. Having listened to the first, second, and fourth podcasts, I am now firmly against the idea of additional podcasts for the following reasons: The podcasts are long, annoyingly and prohibitively long, and mostly contain news stories that could be put in the site notice bar. There is virtually no serious or intelligent discussion in what I listened to (with the exception of when Spartan 387 spoke) and thus there is no motivation for casual users of the site (or anyone with a degree of maturity) to listen to them. Finally, the constant unfunny jokes and shameless self promotion by RelentlessRecusant is very, very annoying. --DEMONSPAWNED 01:08, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Well I think that the users should have a segment, like the admins can be the hosts, and the users are the co hosts, so like RR and GPT do the major news and the users can present there own news or one can ask to do like the Halo Warz updates, I like that, but I can't chose. I think if you want this to be just strictly news and RR and GPT hosted then do it, but if you want a collaterable Podcast then do that, the choice is yours. Tader 7 18:49, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Episode 1: Your Mom's A Quantum Superposition...


OK, GPT and I have successfully recorded the first episode of the Halopedia Podcast tonight, the night of August 29, 2007. However, there were problems at the end, and we are working to recover the audio files. It should be done latest by the weekend, although we hope to have it restored tomorrow night (Thursday). It runs for 44 minutes in its entirety. A brief outline is below:

It turned out a lot better than GPT and I both expected, and both of us have worked very hard to get all the technical issues straightened out. A bravo zulu to GPT for getting the whole show from an idea to reality! =]

It will be available for download in MP3 format, and possibly WMV, although we're not exactly sure where we'll host it, we have good ideas, and we ask for your continued support. ^^

Remove my accent? Dude, I effectively have no accent already. The entire region where I live is a major population center, so more people have this accent than any other accent in the US, and because so many movies are made here, the accent I have is basically accepted as the stereotypical American accent. There's nothing to remove. Since Guesty-Persony-Thingy was unavalable on Sunday evening and was at a party, I was forced to fetch one of my neighbors and convenient XBox Live bullet shields as a guest speaker: Spartan 387. After listening, you will never ever speak to him again or want him on the Podcast...how I "evar" wanted GPT back is a mystery to me, but anyways, good news: my voice sounds (semi)normal again (i.e., un-"gyeh"). =]

Well, so, we proudly bring you the Halopedia Podcast, delayed 11 days. The following is a woeful story of my technical incompetence, GPT's lack of "AWESOMENESS!", and Forgottenlord's lack of "SEXEHNESS!" It was due to be created on 09/03, and all three of us tried to create it together with several failed attempts when eventually on 09/08 GPT decided he did not want to participate a lot in future Podcasts, which left myself stranded in a podcast *alone* with Forgottenlord. We recorded it on 09/09, but my technical difficulties, just recently resolved with some remote troubleshooting by GPT, has been uploaded on 09/13...yeah...and you'll see that it wasn't worth the wait. ;-)
