Image:Arbiter2.jpg

Reasons

This isn't about if its needed or else it would be called the Is it needed Image committee. Is this allowed to be on Halopedia, Yes or No -- Esemono 00:18, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Yes, i know. Which is why i voted Neutral, it doesn't matter to me. I stated it had no major errors, so it's fine by me if the others approve of it. Also, it's not just "yes" or "no", you can vote "neutral". :-- Donut THX 1138 [Comm]

Rulings

Neutral - I don't see any major errors with this image, but there are actual pics of the Arbiter, so it isn't really needed. :-- Donut THX 1138 [Comm]

DENY unneeded. --ED(talk)(shockfront) 22:24, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

DENY indeed.--Running Riot Ryan 13:38, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

DENY per above. --Dragonclaws(talk) 07:10, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Reasons

Rulings

DENY image is too dark, and we don't really know if the planet Reach looks li ke this. --ED(talk)(shockfront) 21:53, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

DENY per ED, although we do kind of know what reach is like from the one cutscene.

-- Donut THX 1138 [Comm]

DENY It looks more like the planet that delta halo is orbiting.--Running Riot Ryan 13:38, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

DENY Yeah, I'm sure that's Substance. --Dragonclaws(talk) 07:10, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Realistically, neutral is only valid if a majority vote is made by the other committee members. If they tie, you must pick either accept or deny. -- Manticore Talk | CSV 06:49, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Image:UNSCPLEI.JPG

Reasons

A Pelican Sprite (by:Rayg) Note: that's not fan art that's from halo zero. Spartan 664 21:47, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

Halo Zero is fan art, its not Bungie -- Esemono 00:35, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Rulings

DENY - We already have actual images of Pelicans. We don't need fan art versions, it's already in the game and seen many times over. Besides, it doesn't quite appear correctly drawn. :-- Donut THX 1138 [Comm]

DENY Indeed.--Running Riot Ryan 21:25, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

DENY agreed. --ED(talk)(shockfront) 21:55, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Image:Deliah.JPG

Reasons to accept/deny

An Image based on the Image:MelissaAI.jpg Spartan 501 wants to use it as, "An example of a UNSC AI."
Image:MelissaAI.jpg

Ruling

DENY - AI's choose a unique image, so if someone wanted to use an example, they should just pick any AI image, not upload a copy with inverted colours. -- Manticore Talk | CSV 04:56, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

DENY Right you are... anyway, this isn't even completely canon; just considered to be what Melissa looks like because it looks cool. —The preceding unsigned comment was made by Guesty-Persony-Thingy (talkcontribs).

DENY per above. -ED 21:54, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

DENY Indeed with all of you above.--ME The Great 21:23, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Image:Imperial admiral2.jpg

Reasons to keep/erase

This image is a fake. You can't get an imperial admiral in halo:combat evolved. besides, if it was in, he would be a boss. Forerunner

You do realize that the purpose of this committee is to look at fake (fan art) images and decide whether they are accurate enough to be used in Halopedia articles, and thus if the picture is fake, that would be a reason for it to be here, not against it, right?

--Master Gunnery Sergeant Hank J Wimbleton IVCOM 02:21, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Ruling

DENY Fake. Güéߣ¥-éҐøñ¥-ħîИg¥ 04:17, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

DENY - Non-canon. -- Manticore Talk | CSV 14:01, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

DENY agreed. -ED 02:10, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

Image:Spartan III.JPG

Reasons to keep/erase

poor quality. (To the artist: using a mirror, strike that pose and take note of the position of your hands) -- Manticore Talk | CSV 14:09, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Ruling

DENY As Manticore said, the image is poor quality. The chest armor of the SPI Armor is not accurate. --ED(talk)(shockfront) 22:51, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

DENY - The armour isn't correctly drawn, and this image really don't depict anything.

-- Donut THX 1138 [Comm] - [CoH] - ['Nodotee] 20:12, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

DENY Agreed. Uncorrect drawings are not acceptible--ME The Great 19:08, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Image:Ghosts of onyx.jpg

Reasons to keep/erase

COMMENT- I know I'm not part of the comittee, but you could crop the picture and insert it on the SPI Armor page for another picture. The one I put there isn't top-of-the-line... SPARTAN-091 HelmetComm||Juliet 21:28, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Ruling

ACCEPT - I think this image nicely displays the Spartan III's and the Spartan II's running through the jungle/marsh of Onyx. It's a little fuzzy, but still an overall good possible pic for the Battle of Onyx.

-- Donut THX 1138 [Comm] - [CoH] - ['Nodotee] 20:03, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
DENY we don't know what the Onyx sentinels look like. --ED(talk)(shockfront) 22:53, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

DENY Indeed. The Onyx sentinels looks are a mystery to us.--ME The Great 19:08, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Deny - I do not accept almost all fan art. =D Furthermore, we don't even know what the Onyx Sentinels look like! Cheers, RelentlessRecusant progress-wheel.gif TALKWORKSPEAK 14:17, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Ruling

Allow Or do they...Wow this is great.--Lieutenant Colonel ryanngreenday 20:38, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Accept Yeah, this is cool. It appears accurate to me. --Dragonclaws(talk) 20:42, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

DENY - it's accurate, but in thumbnail version it doesn't look that great - not much variety in colour. -- Manticore Talk | CSV 04:46, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Well, the location is supposed to be blindingly white. --Dragonclaws(talk) 00:59, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Reasons to keep/erase

As you can see the UNSC and the then 500+ year old American Eagle are two very different things -- Yamanba 13:53, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
Obviously, Lord Hood is also a Colonel, seeing as how the same eagle appears on his hat, though the eagle looks oddly like that of the Marine Corps eagle with just anchors to denote Navy.--Master Gunnery Sergeant Hank J Wimbleton IVCOM 00:51, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

I'm putting this image back up because I can hardly believe that after SPARTAN-091 pointed this out: "Curiously, he [Ackerson] wore an Army uniform, pinned with the eagle insigne [sic] of a colonel." --Halo:GoO, pg. 58, that you could just ignore the evidence that shows that the Colonel insignia is indeed an eagle.

--Master Gunnery Sergeant Hank J Wimbleton IVCOM 22:30, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
While an Eagle is used, as shown by the GoO ref, you can see the Eagle that is used by the UNSC 500+ years in the future is NOT the same used today by American forces today. Sure you can say they're similiar but they're not the same. i.e. lack of arrows, bent wings, different shield, anchors, etc. Thus this FanFiction image should remain . -- Yamanba 13:53, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

The image on that hat is not the Colonel insignia because it isn't denoting rank, or is Fleet Admiral Hood, who has the same eagle on his hat, really a Colonel? In fact, the person shown in that image isn't even a Colonel. That's a Staff Sergeant, if I'm not mistaken.

--Master Gunnery Sergeant Hank J Wimbleton IVCOM 00:51, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

I can't believe I'm saying this again (actually like the third time now), but the Eagle that is on Hood's/Banks' hats is not a rank insigne (the singular of insignia - so sic is not needed above btw), it's a logo/crest (call it what you will). This image - Wikipedia:Image:Vice_Admiral_salutes.jpg - shows the US Navy logo/crest on the cover (hat) of a Vice Admiral. The image on Hood/Banks is COMPLETELY different to a rank insignia. As this is a very controversial topic, please do not to contribute overzealous arguments on this page, as it is less likely they will be taken under consideration. -- Manticore Talk | CSV 04:34, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

I'm so disappointed in Bungie, you would have they thought they would have been a little more creative. -- Yamanba 09:46, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Ruling

DENY per above. --Dragonclaws(talk) 18:17, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

ACCEPT - There is no contradiction to this image, as is for ALL the other UNSC rank images we use on Halopedia. Yamanba's argument (which I believe was a strong factor in the image's original denial) is fatally flawed (see above). -- Manticore Talk | CSV 04:43, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

DENY just like in the US armed services, the eagle on the hat does not equal "colonel". I had a hat with an eagle like that in JROTC. -ED 20:25, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

I'm confused. Your justification seems to lead towards the accept side. Has someone changed your vote? -- Manticore Talk | CSV 04:08, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
I think he's saying deny because the image in question is not used anywhere in Halo (or is it? no, seriously, is it?), but then his sentencythingy is not an explanation, simply a disagreement with Yanamba. As for me, I'm not voting till someone tells me if it's been used before in the Halo universe. guesty-persony-thingy 04:53, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
A lot of the officer rank images we use on Halopedia haven't been seen or described. We've just made the assumption that they are the same as the current U.S. officer insignias because so many of them have been described as being exactly the same. I don't see why that should be any different for this particular image. -- Manticore Talk | CSV 05:01, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

ACCEPT Sure. guesty-persony-thingy 07:04, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Just a painting of Master Chief in a pool of water...-ED 20:27, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Ruling

ACCEPT Sure. NEUTRAL It could be useful, maybe on the 343 GS level page, but I dunno... ACCEPT Sorry, I can't archive, no time, but I guess ED's right. guesty-persony-thingy 20:31, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

DENY - What's the point? It's not of any real value. I'm sick of crappy no point images filling this page. -- Manticore Talk | CSV 04:18, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Comment Well, it's a little weird, I guess... but it might have a use somewhere... maybe... guesty-persony-thingy 04:50, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

NEUTRAL Nope point, but is alright it could hav euse other places at some point in time.--ME The Great 21:23, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Comment: Isn't the whole point of the FanArt Committee to keep our pages from being flooded by images that are non-canon or not needed? It's not like this image conveys an important piece of information not otherwise available. It's just a Spartan, standing in water. Big deal. -- Manticore Talk | CSV 09:38, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

ACCEPT The purpose of the FanArt Committee is to determine whether images violate the Halopedia:Canon Policy or the Halopedia:Image Policy, NOT to determine how useful they are. Hopefully, that is at the disgression of the users. -ED 15:47, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

ACCEPT GASP, your right, the hole time...we were doing it wrong, well not teh hole time but still!! GASP! Oh ED you are so wise. Teach us oh wise one!!--ME The Great 16:03, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Yeah I think we would should use more of these cool non-Halo related pictures. As long as they're vague enough they present a good visual representation of an aspect that is Halo releated. -- Esemono 13:39, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Ruling

ACCEPT I agree with whats said above as only as its vague enough its all good, well to a degree.--ME The Great 20:10, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Is this real? Is it Gameplay?

Look here; fanart created by Craig Mullens. His work is generally non-contradictory with canon, and even been used by Bungie before, so I suggest you vote for accept. Güéߣ¥-éҐøñ¥-ħîИg¥ 18:35, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Ruling

Neutral I dont, know...Gameplay, real?? What is real?!!--ME The Great 19:08, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Accept I believe it's storyboard art like that one of the Halo that was used for the Helljumping scene. --Dragonclaws(talk) 00:29, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

ACCEPT The image is used by Bungie. --ED(talk)(shockfront) 21:16, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Image:Durga.jpg

Reasons to keep/erase

This is an actual image of the goddess Durga and could be used in the Durga article -- Esemono 04:17, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Ruling

ACCEPT I guess, its not really fan art but yeah, sure, ok.--ME The Great 19:08, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Accept per above. Not fanart, so much as just non-Halo. --Dragonclaws(talk) 00:29, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

DENY Durga's appearance was never described, particularly not as a Hindu goddess. --ED(talk)(shockfront) 21:18, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

It seemed to me that the goddess image would just be used as a description of the AI's namesake. --Dragonclaws(talk) 21:24, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
I don't think it would be necessary, considering how many other namesakes this could apply to. FENRIS, SHIVA, NOVA, etc... --ED(talk)(shockfront) 00:44, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Accept - I'd definately accept this, if there was a small disclaimer like "Durga's hypothesized appearance". Cheers, RelentlessRecusant progress-wheel.gif TALKWORKSPEAK 14:19, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
