- I find this image espically offensive as it implies that the UNSC is really an American force that uses American badges. We have no idea what images are used as badges in the UNSC forces therefore this image should be banned from Halopedia -- Yamanba 11:00, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- Offensive or not, the UNSC as a fictional nation seems to have been (IMO) spawned from the notion that eventually everyone will adopt the American way of life because clearly that is more civilized. It's stupid and shallow, but you can see it in several American products. That said, we don't really know what the badges look like. --Dragonclaws 07:18, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
- Civilized, my butt! I live here, and it's not that civilized! SPARTAN-091
HelmetComm||Juliet
- I know, but that's a popular idea amongst patriots. --Dragonclaws 20:37, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- The thing is, Nylund has expressly stated that the ranks are based on the American system. The ranks each Halo 2 Charachter wears correspond directly to the American naval ranks, and the ranks described in every Halo book correspond directly to the same symbols on the American ranks.
- You have to understand, there is an unavoidable leaning towards America in the Halo universe, wikipedia calls it "systematic bias." Bungie is an american Company, Microsoft is an American company. Nylund is an American writer, and though it has become popular in international markets, the Halo franchise was originally designed to cater towards American game players. Rather than trying to invent and describe an entirely new rank system, it seems that the developers of the storyline simply chose to take a shortcut in development and base most of the ranks and decorations off of the American system. They have been given criticism for it, but that is the way it was done. -ED 02:33, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- I concur with the American system has been used to develop the UNSC ranking system and I'm disappointed by how lazy Bungie was in choosing that option but I have to strongly disagree with this image. Its obviously an American badge, even lazy sloppy Bungie wouldn't use this symbol! Its like having American flags on the ships! -- Esemono 01:50, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- Plus, this symbolic emblem looks like the kind of thing that they'd play with specifically, like the UNSC amd ONI emblems. --Dragonclaws(talk) 03:11, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, now... Don't be hatin'. I just said it wasn't civilized. I am a "patriot," but one who believes in national soveriegnty (sp?). And that includes America. We (the world) will never be united under one flag. Ever. SPARTAN-091
HelmetComm||Juliet
- I wasn't trying to turn this into a political debate, I was just pointing out an opinion I've often encountered. I certainly hope that the world doesn't unite like that in our world, but that seems to be how it's turned out in the Halo universe. --Dragonclaws(talk) 03:11, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Wait! If we had an image with a colonel insig. in it, then why the hell didn't we use THAT? And, the only differences I can see in the two is the bent wings on the UNSC one, and the position of the shield. SPARTAN-091

NEUTRAL Okay, so it's on a userpage, but does he even come 'round anymore? I haven't seen him, and, unless you click on the picture, nothing's different, so he might as well just use the original, which I think we already have, so I'll let the admins decide whether it's right to get rid of it, now that he's (I think) gone. guesty-persony-thingyI too have an AI... his name is Supreme Honcho. 04:52, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- DENY USE ON ARTICLES Okay, apparently the lines are supposed to be blood.... and Unngoy does come around, sorta, and he wants to keep them, even though the thumbnailing almost completely removes it... so I'll have to comply with his request. Also, because of his wish to keep this one, his other image, although denied by the fanart committee, should still be kept, but because they're really bad fanart, I'm going to have to say deny, as in denied use on articles, but not delete. guesty-persony-thingyI too am an AI... my owner's name is Supreme Honcho. 18:06, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

TRASH It is a created image. There are cruisers around the carrier. Cruisers never got to earth during the cutscene, only two carriers. The planet is also obviously earth, so the image is no good because it depicts something false. -ED 03:58, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

This was denied, but, if you watch the VERY first cutscene, when the pre-Arbiter says "it fled, as we set fire to their planet," you'll see that all the Covy ships are, contrary to- I said they were "NEVER" white? I added this like the others as they are posted on a Halo FanArt site and then uploaded here by User:Unggoy to his "Gallery". The ones that had an artist who claims to have created them I posted here. They look just like Canon Images but I decided to post them here just to be sure. Most of the above Images are "created" by Major Dump. -- Esemono 05:04, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

ACCEPT Yeah, I guess they are white. --Dragonclaws(talk) 04:12, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
DENY look closely at that image, and you will see that the ships look white because there is light reflecting off of them. Their charachteristic purple can be seen on the edges of the ships. These on the other hand, look like they flew through a cloud of bleach. Again, Covenant ships are all light purple, never white. -ED 03:51, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
DENY agreed, not really white.--ryanngreenday 20:13, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- COMMENT I'm pretty sure that this is just another hi-res cutscene screenshot from another angle, but, rather than arguing about it, let's just ask Major Dump, the guy who first made it and uploaded it to his Halouvre gallery; surely he will know. guesty-persony-thingyI too am an AI... my owner's name is Supreme Honcho. 04:03, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
- COMMENT Okay, that was before he figured out how the materials worked, so it's the same except for the colors. But, even though they're a different color, I'm still fine with keeping the images. - Who is "he" and what are the "materials" -- Esemono 06:22, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- To me, it's like using an image of Master Chief with white armor as an official one and saying its "essentially the same thing." When we have better screenshots and fan art that depicts Covenant ships correctly, why use incorrect ones like these? -ED 02:26, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- Well, it's not just like just having another Spartan with white armor, because it's not just a white ship, it's a ship over reach. I'd vote to delete any old white Spartan, but I'd say keep a white Spartan beating the crap out of Regret, at least until we got a better picture. Do we have pictures like this, hi-res and all that, with the proper color? If so, I'll change my vote. If not, I'll stick with keep, until we get a proper one. guesty-persony-thingyI too am an AI... my owner's name is Supreme Honcho. 04:53, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- There's only ever been one image of Reach. I don't see why we need this one when it is essentially the same image, just with white ships. I think other fanart can be/has been found that just depicts the ships, with the proper colors. If we're keeping the image because it has Reach, well we already have an official one. If we're keeping it for the ships, we already have decen images of those, too. -ED 19:05, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

- "Images of the Seraph can be taken." Yeah, and this is proof of it, isn't it? It's just a screenshot! "The Seraph is actually in Halo 2, unlike some other ships." Yes... and this is just a screenshots of it, isn't it? Or am I just missing something here? guesty-persony-thingy 23:00, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- You are missing that this is not a screenshot. A seraph was shown flying only once in Halo 2, that was in outer space. The Seraph at the gas mine was parked in the bay and never flew like this. The uploader also direstly stated that it was not a screenshot. -ED 00:08, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, it's not a screenshot, but as the uploader directly stated, it is a "Seraph render. Unknown origin." The key word here is render, which is pretty much the same as a screenshot. Okay, so it's not like someone grabbed Blind, went to some place where they'd see it, and grabbed it with their capture card, but as far as I can tell, someone with a modded XBox accessed the Seraph model and rendered it. I can see "Seraph render. Unknown origin" meaning it's not a screenshot, but I couldn't see it meaning that it's fanart. Since no one seems to know where this image is from, I'm going to post at HBO, and perhaps someone will be able to help us out. guesty-persony-thingy 01:46, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- For the record, I don't really remember what it originally said at old.halopedia, so either I copied it or wrote it based on what I thought I saw. The claim that it's a render perhaps in error either on my part or the original uploader (whoever wrote that description) because when I look at it now it looks like fanart. --Dragonclaws(talk) 04:23, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
