The H-295 Forward Observer Module, also known as the Target Designator, is a target designator used by the UNSC in 2557. It is used to mark for destruction targets that are too large to be damaged by conventional weaponry. The target designator was used during the First Battle of Requiem by John-117 to target the Particle Cannons guarding the gravity well which kept the Infinity trapped inside Requiem.
Compared to the H-165 used in Halo: Reach, the H-295 Target Designator no longer commands an air strike, instead commanding either the Mammoth or one of the UNSC Infinity's missiles to fire. Furthermore, the H-295 takes less time to designate a target but is unable to designate ground targets.
