General (Halo 3)
From Halopedia, the Halo Wiki
General is the highest rank one can receive in Halo 3's Matchmaking; it is also the hardest rank to obtain. The phrase 50 ("fifty") can also be used to refer to both the rank of General and a person who is a General; this alternate name refers to the fact that only people with a Highest Skill of 50 can become a General.

[edit] Trivia
- The first player in the Halo 3 Beta to achieve the rank of General was SmokedYeti. He received Recon Armor as a reward.[1]
- Generals have been the butt of many jokes, and the rank itself has a bad reputation. There are two causes for the rank's bad reputation: Generals that are unfriendly towards players with lower ranks; and Generals who earned their rank by stealing, buying, or boosting accounts. Another reason generals are often disliked is because they often search in matchmaking in large parties.
- A common insult to Generals is the phrase, "How much was your 50?". Generals who perform poorly or use unfair tactics often encounter the question, even if (in the former case) they were simply having an off day.
