Sergeant John Forge was a Non-Commissioned Officer and an Infantryman in the UNSC Marine Corps ^[1].

Born on Earth, 2502^[2] Forge served aboard the UNSC Spirit of Fire during the Second Battle of Harvest.^[1] Those under his command trusted him greatly, despite the fact that Sgt. Forge failed his last psychological exam.^[2] One of his first missions on Harvest was to scout out Covenant activity in a northern polar region of Harvest. Reporting the Covenant activity to his superiors,^[1] he returned to Alpha Base, helping round up UNSC forces along the way.^[3]

• Sergeant Forge appears on the battlefield in Halo Wars as a 'hero unit'. He rides in a Warthog which may have been possibly have better armor protection, armament, and performance ^[4].
• His last name is a reference to the Halo 3 mode, Forge, where players can edit maps.
• His first name is likely a tribute to Spartan John-117.
