A flagship is a vessel that commands operations in a Fleet; it can be any warship and is not restricted to, nor does it describe, any particular class of vessel. This is the ship, or sometimes an orbital platform, that houses the Commander of the Fleet/Armada/Battlegroup and his or her senior staff.
