The Close Call medal is a medal in Halo: Reach and Halo 4. It is obtained when a player with no shields and little health kills an opponent then manages to survive long enough to recharge their shield. Most players die before this medal is awarded as the player is extremely vulnerable to enemy fire just before it is acquired.
Trivia[]
- In the Halo: Reach Multiplayer Beta, the announcer would say Close Call medal when the player earned the medal. This was removed for the final game.
- Also in the Beta, the medal was earned by surviving after losing all shields and most health. In the final game, the player must also get a kill to earn the medal.
