The M2859 Materiel Acquisition Pod (MAP), commonly referred to as an "ordnance pod," is a pod used by UNSC ships (such as UNSC Infinity) to deploy weapons and ammunition to the surface of a planet.
Function[]
Like ODST SOEIVs, M2859 pods are deployed from special bays on a ship. When the target delivery point is under solid cover or indoors, the pods are teleported down. The outer casing of the pod separates from the pod upon arrival to allow personnel access to its contents. The base of the pod detonates shortly after the contents of the pod are retrieved.
The M2859 appears in Halo 4's War Games as the pod in which ordnance is delivered.
