030569 was an M808B Main Battle Tank used by the UNSC and was attached to the UNSC Pillar of Autumn.
Operational History[]
During the Assault on the Control Room, the tank was assigned to Fire Team Zulu in 2552. As the fire team's Pelican crashed in the canyons close to Halo's Control Room, the tank detached from the Pelican and slid on the ice some 20 meters. It was discovered by John-117 who used it to fight his way through the canyons, destroying multiple Ghosts and Wraiths. However, John and the Marines had to abandon the tank at a set of pipes where it was too narrow for the tank to continue.[4]
The fate of the tank is unknown, but since it is not where John left it upon returning later, it was most likely captured by the Flood or destroyed by the Covenant. If was not captured or destroyed, then it would have been destroyed when John-117 destroyed Halo.
Trivia[]
- This tank appears to be the only tank in Halo: Combat Evolved, as all multiplayer tanks are labeled alike (even though the hatch is built differently).
- The tank's serial number is an Easter Egg, the date 5 March 1969 is the birthday of Halo's Art Director Marcus R. Lehto.
