The Fifth Fleet was a Fleet in the UNSC Navy. In October 2552, it consisted of eight operational Marathon-class heavy cruisers and a further sixty-seven Stalwart-class light frigates. In that year it was commanded by Fleet Admiral Harper from the flagship, UNSC Canberra.
Operational history
The earliest mention of the Fifth Fleet is October 2552 when Earth-orbiting stations detected a Covenant fleet exiting slipspace nearby. The planet was well defended, having received reinforcements all morning.

Trivia
The Fifth Fleet is not mentioned in Halo: Ghosts of Onyx. It may have been destroyed by November 3rd, and the Second; Seventh and Sixteenth Fleets replace it.
