Elimination is a Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 multiplayer Slayer variant in which all of the players have one life. It is a free-for-all Slayer type. In order to win the match, you must be the last player alive. This game goes to the first to three. You only have one life; upon death you must sit out for the rest of the round and watch the other players fight it out to determine the victor.
[edit] Review
Elimination is, in a way, a gateway game, to get players to experiment with other variations of limited-life matches. The time limit can be quite annoying to players at times because the matches are cut short, but then again if games have indefinite time limits when eliminated players tend to get bored and leave. The best way to stay entertained is to wait the short period of time before you can use Teamspeak to talk to all the players, even the ones who are still alive. Try not to give away the positions of other players.
Although not as popular in as it is in Halo 2, Elimination can also be played in Halo: Combat Evolved.
