The Crimson Map Pack is the first of the three DLC map packs to be released for use in War Games, Forge, or Custom Games on Halo 4. The bonus material contains three new maps; Wreckage, Harvest, and Shatter, all of which were released on the 10th December 2012.[1][2][3]

CostEdit

For those who own the War Games Seasonal Pass from buying it for 2000 Microsoft Points or from the Halo 4 Limited Edition, the Crimson Map Pack will available to play for free upon release day; those without the War Games Seasonal Pass will be available to download it from the Xbox Live Marketplace for the cost of 800 Microsoft Points or $10.00 USD/£6.44GBP.[3]

AchievementsEdit

Along with the three included maps, eight additional achievements will be released on the 10th December 2012.[3] As with previous map packs, these exclusive achievements will only be available for completion when playing on one of the three Crimson map pack maps whilst online on War Games. The achievements will be worth a total of 250 Gamerscore:

WreckageEdit

Wreckage is a medium sized asymmetrical map capable of accommodating a wide range of objective based gametypes. The environment of the map resembles a field of debris littered with winding paths and stretches, allowing for players to utilize spaces for confusing opponents or remaining in cover. Wreckage supports a max of 16 players on Infinity Slayer and 12 players on other gametypes.[1]

HarvestEdit

Harvest is a small to medium sized symmetrical map perfect for objective gametypes such as Capture the Flag. The environment of the map is based off the agricultural world Harvest, and resembles an industrial human complex consisting of two bases at either end of the map. Harvest supports 8-12 players.[1]

ShatterEdit

Shatter is a large symmetrical map designed for big team battles and the use of vehicles. The environment of the map resembles large crystalline surfaces littered with UNSC mining facilities. Shatter is able to support 16 players on Infinity Slayer, and 12 players on other gametypes.[1]

  • The Crimson Map Pack was first announced 24th October 2012 in a Microsoft press release.
  • The Crimson Map Pack appears to have gained its nomenclature from the protagonist group of SPARTAN-IVs, Fireteam Crimson.
