Commander is a commissioned officer rank of the UNSC Navy, equal in rank to Lieutenant Colonel in the UNSC Marine Corps.

Commanders typically serve as the executive officer (XO) (second in command) of a UNSC Warship. However, they may also command a UNSC Warship.
