Little is known about Chawla Base other than it is an ONI base located in the city of Boston, Massachusetts in the United States^[1], on Earth. It consisted of at least 44 buildings. It also housed a Forerunner artifact.

There are at least six Security Levels (possibly 7), each ascending with greater strength. They are alternatively referred to by colors.

• Green - relatively low
• Blue - relatively high
• Red - Level 5
• Black - the highest
