Carved Letters in Sierra 117

Carved Letters Easter Egg can be seen in the Halo 3 campaign mission, Sierra 117.

Sprinkled throughout the dense foliage of Sierra 117 are carved hearts with initials and dates. Since the setting of the mission was Africa, some people think the second carving was made in the year 1995, and that this was probably a young couple sitting in the trees writing these things, although other people think that it could be any other year or even names of UNSC members.
This can be seen throughout all difficulties and requires normal gameplay. Players may also view these Easter Eggs via Theater after completing the mission. The letters might be initials for McFarlane, which is in charge of making the Action Figures of the Halo series, including other games. The date on one of the carvings is still unknown
