As many of you will have noticed, in the past couple of days, a number of videos have appeared at the tops of certain articles. These videos play automatically when the page is loaded, and upon completion, they then automatically cycle through a playlist of other videos from the FANDOM platform.
We sincerely apologise for their sudden and unforseen appearance. They were created by FANDOM itself independent of Halo Alpha, and inserted into our pages without warning.
To be clear: Halo Alpha had no involvement in the creation of these videos, and was not consulted or notified before they were placed on our articles.
With that in mind, we intend to place a template at the top of each of the affected pages in order to communicate to readers what these videos are, why they are present, and to provide a link here, where they can post their thoughts and feedback. This template will remain on the articles while the Halo Alpha administration contemplates the best route to take from here.
In the meantime, we would like to gauge the opinion of our community on the matter while we decide how to approach this situation. Please use this thread to discuss the videos, and give feedback - both to us (the Halo Alpha administration) and to FANDOM (the creators of the videos).
Also, note that while it is likely that Halo Alpha will take action to have these videos removed, we cannot guarantee that we will be successful - though we will certainly try our best if we do take action.
TL;DR: The videos that have appeared at the top of numerous articles are not under Halo Alpha's control, and we apologise for their abrupt appearance. If you have anything you would like to say about them, please leave your thoughts below.
