Figuring out Frigates and other things
created February 22, 2008, last edited December 26, 2008

UNSC Firgates are quite weak compared with Cruisers and Battlecruisers, but they pack a fair punch for a ship their size. The UNSC's Frigates are hopelessly outgunned, outmanuvered, and slower than even the Covenant Frigates. However, there are things that people do not get about Halo. I am planning to start a thing where I answer questions about Halo, and this week, its about UNSC Frigates. Firstly, Archer missles. A single one apperently can destroy all, but a capital ship. Okay, thats misquoted, but I don't care right now. What one does not get is why a Frigate carries so many missles. A oversized Archer missle pod holds 32 missles and a ordanary one hold 8. So, if these are so powerful, why are so many needed on a ship if a single one can do so much damage? The answer is retorical, but also lies deep within Halo litriture. The reason so many needed are the Covenant, but that obvious. The 'energy shield' of a Covenant ship is tough and the lasers they have to destory that sort of thing are extremely accurate. One could launch many thousands Archer missles at a Covenant ship, and maybe a few hundred will hit the target. Another question is where would all the Missles could be kept. The missles would have to be huge to do that much damage, and Frigates are small, even for UNSC standards. I know nothing about the UNSCs explosives, so I can't answer this part. Another question is the Magnetic Acceleration Cannon, otherwise known as a 'MAC Cannon', is located. This answer, can be found and answered in the following picture.

For those who don't get it, on the top part of the ' = ' shape in the front of the Frigate, is the MAC Cannon. The MAC Cannon is probably a weaker version than the regular varient. In any case, if anyone actually found this useful, learnt something from this or have questions for me to answer next time, pleaseleave a message on my user page them on my user talk page. Cheers!
