Today, after almost three months of eager anticipation, the remainder of the Xbox 360's catalogue of Halo games is now available on Xbox One via backwards compatibility. As of less than two hours ago, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and Halo 4 can all be played on Xbox One, without requiring any additional purchases (provided you own the games on 360).

As with all games on Xbox One, these games must be installed before they can be played. If you own a physical disk, simply insert it into your console and it will prompt you to install the game. Meanwhile, those who own digital copies will find the games waiting in the "Ready to install" section of the "Games & apps" program. Note, however, that digital copies of Halo: CEA are n…

Earlier today, the latest and final piece of DLC in the Halo Wars 2 Season Pass was released: a new leader called Yapyap the Destroyer. Yapyap is a Grunt who has led a revolution against the Banished, and he fields several units that are new to Halo Wars 2.

Among Yapyap's arsenal are the Grunt Goblins, which act as his hero unit, and he can field up to three at any one time. Additionally, Yapyap has access to the Methane Wagon, a vehicle which (once unlocked from the leader power menu) can be trained from main base structures. He fields two new infantry units: the Brute Rider, a Grunt which rides on a Brute's back, and the Heavy Grunt, a squad of Grunts, one of which holds a Fuel Rod Gun. Finally, although not a unit, Yapyap is the first leade…

Yesterday, two pieces of DLC dropped for Halo Wars 2: Operation Spearbreaker, a two mission long mini-campaign, and Serina, a new multiplayer leader.

Operation Spearbreaker follows a squad of highly-trained ODSTs in their mission to save the from a Banished plot which threatens to destroy it. The squad, led by Major Vaughan, acts as a hero unit throughout the mini-campaign and contains a sniper, engineer armed with a Rocket Launcher, three ODSTs with Suppressed SMGs and a drone. Meanwhile, the antagonist of the story is Colony, a DLC leader introduced in April.

Serina as a leader focuses on ice-related powers, similar to Anders in Halo Wars. In place of Hellbringers, Serina fields Cryo Troopers, who freeze their opponents rather than burn the…

    Heyo! Aya here.

I'm writing this blog today on the Arbiters. Not just Thel 'Vadam, the Arbiter of Halo 3 and 5, but all the Arbiters that came before him. The long history of the Arbiters. (I'm doing this because my brother asked me about this subject earlier today) This entry may be a lot shorter than most of my entries, only because I can only remember so much without looking back at a video that I cant remember the name of, and the fact that without the video and the original Bible Story of the Halo universe I know very little legit stone hard facts. So not all of what I say may be close to the truth. And if I have something wrong, please let me know. And I will post the link to the video I was talking in a later entry. (Once I find it, …

At this point, there's no point sidestepping the topic: Halo Nation has become somewhat outdated with much of the Halo material post-2011, outside of the video games. I believe that the wiki is no longer the reliable source for Halo information it should be, because of this fact.

Being an admin, I feel it is my duty to at least try to help the wiki back onto its feet, and given that I have three months until I start at university, I feel that now is the best time to do so. However, updating the wiki is no easy task, hence why I'm starting Project Rebirth, named after the fictional project of the same name whose aim was to revitalise New Mombasa after the Human-Covenant war. In this blog, I will outline my plans for the project so that others can…

In a huge barrage of Halo news that occured a little over an hour ago, several major announcements were made, at least one of which will interest every Halo fan in some way.

Firstly, Halo 5: Guardians will be getting a 4K update for the release of Xbox One X. The title was absent from the list of games getting 4K updates that was presented at Xbox's E3 press conference, but 343 have stated that they were merely not yet ready to make an announcement. This means that Halo 5: Guardians and Halo Wars 2 will be the first Halo games to be playable at 4K resolution on consoles, when these updates roll out for Xbox One X users later this year.

Next, and most important for some - including myself - comes the revelation that by the end of this year, every single …

Yesterday saw the release of the Icons of War DLC pack for Halo Wars 2. This pack, which is included in the season pass, contains two new leaders. Arbiter Ripa 'Moramee is a returning character and leader from the original Halo Wars, although with a Banished twist. Meanwhile, Jerome-092, previously relegated to simply being Captain Cutter's hero unit, has been given a promotion to Commander, allowing him to take command on the battle field.

The Arbiter focuses on agressive, rapid attacks supported by fast-moving units. In place of Jump Pack Brutes, 'Moramee deploys Enforcers, Elites armed with T-25 Plasma Rifles and T53 Plasma Casters. He also has access to Banished Phantoms, which are fast aerial craft armed with powerful plasma cannons, and a…

At E3 yesterday, a new DLC expansion for Halo Wars 2 was unvieled, titled Halo Wars 2: Awakening the Nightmare. This expansion, which is not included in the season pass, will include a new campaign featuring the return of the Flood, two new Banished leaders (likely the two Brutes depicted in the image below), two new multiplayer maps and finally Terminus Firefight, a cooperative mode where players must band together to defeat hordes of enemies for as long as possible. Awakening the Nightmare will release in Autumn, 2017, and will cost $19.99 USD.

Awakening the Nightmares campaign expansion will have players taking control of the Banished, as they encounter the ancient Flood threat. It will include two Blur cutscenes to bookend the experience. Outs…

In the latest Halo Waypoint blog post, a new Halo novel was announced. The book, titled Halo: Bad Blood, is not set to release until next year, 2018. Almost no details have been revealed on Halo: Bad Blood as of yet, besides the fact that it will be penned by Matt Forbeck, author of Halo: New Blood.

One likely possibility is that it will focus on Michael 'Mickey' Crespo, the ODST from Halo 3: ODST, who defected from the UNSC during the events of New Blood - hence the title 'Bad Blood'. However, this is mere speculation and we will have to wait for more details before making any assumptions.

We'll just have to wait and see what Forbeck has in store for us next year.

    s Latest DLC Leader, Sgt Johnson, Has Released}}

Fan-favourite character Sergeant Avery Johnson has made his way into Halo Wars 2 in its latest piece of DLC, which was released yesterday. He brings with him a variety of mechs new to the game, some of which have never been seen before.

The beloved Sergeant's focus as a leader are mechanized units, and so with him, several mechs have been added. In place of the Warthogs, Johnson fields Mantises. Also replaced in Johnson's arsenal is the Scorpion. What could be better than "66 tonnes of straight-up, HE-spewin' dee-vine intervention", you ask? The Colossus, a huge mech with the ability to stomp on and stun enemies. Johnson himself can take to the battlefield in his Green Machine hero unit, a very …
