“Uh oh, another Bandit droppin' in behind us! They're tryin' to flank us!”

Bandit is a latter phrase used by the UNSC Marine Corps to describe and entail a possible enemy aircraft or dropships of an unknown classification in vectored proximity and distance.[1] It has been used to reference Spirit dropships.

Before the actual name was revealed in Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, the name of the original DX-class Dropship was assumed to be the Bandit, due to Marines' use of the term to alert others of one arriving.

The term originated from Brevity code used by twentieth Century military forces.
