117 is the 12th track included in the Halo 4: Original Soundtrack Volume 1.

CompositionEdit

If listened to carefully, one can hear the crescendoing section from the Halo Theme, at roughly 6:10; the song itself seems to use the theme as its' baseline.

UsageEdit

It is played in the first part of the last campaign level, Midnight, when flying a Broadsword. It also plays during the Halo 4 credits. At about the 3:45 mark, the song shifts to the after-credits song that plays. The part where John-117's armor is removed is played at the very end of this song. The first part of this track can also be heard in the final part of the ending cinematic of the level Reclaimer, when Andrew Del Rio orders John-117 to hand over Cortana, and John refuses, to which Del Rio responds by ordering John arrested, though John walks out of the UNSC Infinity's front deck with Cortana before any action could be made.

Other UsesEdit

In Halo 5: Guardians, parts of 117 can be heard in Scavengers and The Trials. The song was prominently remade in a much more sombre tone in the song Blue Team.
