In 100,043 B.C.E. (approx.) the Forerunners created 032 Mendicant Bias to combat the Flood threat and its Gravemind.[1] Mendicant Bias would eventually turn against his makers and fight for the Gravemind.
At the same time the Librarian discovers an early human species on what we now know as Earth. The entire species is removed from the surface of the planet and held on the Ark.[2]
